Pricey=worth it
Is this expensive? Yes!! Does it work? YES! A little goes a long way! If you can catch your cold sore right away, and use this asap, you’ll be amazed at how quickly it heals.

Disappointed
When I picked up the item via curbside the product was not in the packaging. Someone had broken the plastic and took the item out and just left the cap of the item. When I attempted to return the item I called numerous times and got no answer so I had to head back and go into the store to only be treated rudely by customer service. They asked me “so the pkg like this?” Yes, it was like that when I picked it up and I’m not paying $18 dollars for something I did not receive. I then was told I could go get the item and bring it back to them so they could switch it out. I had to do this, they wouldn’t do it! So ridiculous!! How about fix the problem and make it easy for the customer who made the purchase. Nope, the two girls couldn’t even do that.

Pump Style Abreva Defective
Do not buy this product in a pump! I have used the cream before, in the tube, and would have this time, too, but my usual stores were only carrying the pump.The cream works well for cold sores, and although it is very expensive, the cream in the tube lasts a very long time because you don't need to use much. I was leary of buying a pump, because pumps often stop working prematurely. While the Abreva pump was working, it dispensed more than needed, then after only a few uses, it stopped pumping altogether! This is very frustrating, especially given how expensive the product is. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the pump version of this product!

Great product, even if too pricey
Great product! I've been using this for years, and never had any problem with it. They really do mean what they say: start applying it the second you realize you're starting to get a cold sore. The sooner you start using it, the better it works. It won't work nearly as well if you wait until you've had the sore for a few days. The only thing I don't like about this stuff is the price. The charge is insanely high, like they're penalizing you because you happen to have a cold sore. Still, even though the price is frustrating, I'd rather pay it and have my cold sore gone sooner...which is exactly what they're banking on. But it works, so I use it.

It's worth it honey.
I love how quickly it starts working, you can feel it working immediately! I’ve have a cold sore without this product and it took me two weeks to heal back to normal my lip split I was crying in pain and because I was embarrassed of the fact I even get cold sores. When I felt it coming I didn’t mess around, I bought it and in THREE DAYS my would be massive lip spitting cold store was gone! The trick is to apply it as directed but as soon as you feel it tingling. I keep it in my bathroom as I probably get a large one once a year, the lack of pain and suffering because of this medication is worth it.

Worked for me
I bought this a two days before a vacation when a cold sore started to appear. I applied it a few times a day and in two days it was noticeably smaller. After 5 days it was almost gone. I saw others sayng it did not work for them or it made things worse but, I did not have that experience.

Please be careful!!!
I used Abreva a week after I had gotten my cold sores, I don't get them very often, but when I do they stay for weeks. Just make sure you know how your skin will react to the ointment. I used it, but after 2 days, it kept getting worse, making my cold sores so bad that it had contracted in my facial nerve. Which led to the spread of it to one side of my face. Please make sure that your skin will not have a bad reaction to this, like me. I'm not saying it doesn't work because my friend raved about it, which is what led me to use it. There are 2 pictures attached below, one when I got my cold sore, and one where you can see them spreading to my face. I'm only posting this to bring attention to this matter, not to bring harm to the company.

Negligence
I’ve been using Abreva since it became available, and I have noticed a pattern. Luckily now I have an anti-viral prescription from my doctor so I no longer have to deal with Abreva, which DOES NOT WORK after the initial dose. How this company has not been brought to court over its negligence in terms of advertising is mind-boggling. Because here’s the worst bit: if you try to keep a tube of VERY EXPENSIVE Abreva after you’ve used the initial one or two beads of medicine for the *next* time you get a cold sore, using that tube will MAKE YOUR COLDSORE WORSE and MAKE IT SPREAD. The people who make this product have no conscience. I will never buy it again. If you get cold sores, talk to your doctor and get a prescription. This stuff is snake oil.

Not as good as it used to be
Abreva is not the same as the older formula. It doesn’t work as well . The older Abreva used to get rid of cold sores in about 3 or 4 days. This new Abreva is really no better than using nothing at all . I don’t know what they did to change it but they need to go back to the original.
