Love the book! I bought it as one of our baby shower gifts, so the new parents can read it to their newborn daughter. #instillselfConfidenceFromTheBeginning

Great book for any age
My 1 year old daughter typically doesn't sit through an entire story, but for this one she does! I believe it's because she can identify with the main character and her hair. At one she already recognizes similarities and I'm thankful for the book because she sees herself in the story. She actually goes to get the book for me to read.

MUST have book on African American hair
As a woman of color this book real resonated with me. It took me back to all the days I had to sit in between my moms legs to get my hair done. My daughter is biracial but she still needs to get her hair combed and sometimes she a bit sensitive. This book helps normalize her discomfort and shows her that what she experiences is okay. This book is a MUST have for girls who get their hair styled daily.

Children of color need this book
This is a great book for little girls of color to embrace the versatility of their naturally amazing hair. My daughter is not quite old enough to get it yet, but when she does, she will know that other little girls squirm when they get their hair combed as well. She loves the pictures and says "hair!" as she turns the pages. My husband already told her that she wasn't getting a relaxer, so I guess this will be her world. I agree, BUY IT!

The Truthful Books
The book took me back to my childhood when my mother combed my hair as an Afican American child☺️. Very good book for little black girls who dont understand their hair. BUY IT!
