Q: How many tea bags would it take to make 1 gallon of tea?

  • A: Depends on how strong you like your tea. If you are going for iced tea you need to brew a stronger tea. You could always brew 1 tea bag per cup. So a gallon would be 16 bags, at this strength you could add ice and not lose flavor. To save money, I would brew 8-12 bags, depending on the strength you desire steep for a little longer. My basic formulas that I use to save tea are: #cups÷2=#bags for hot tea (#cups÷2)+(#cups÷4)=#bags for cold tea Sorry if this is confusing

    TEA BAGS NOW HAVE LESS IN THEM

    The tea itself? Love it, have purchased this for a few years now. Always fresh, nice taste, good packaging, love that the bags still have an actual tag on them, etc., HOWEVER...the last two times I purchased? I don't drink strong tea, one bag generally would make 3 cups for me. Now? One cup. So this means I'm now using 2 teabags vs. 1 everytime I make hot tea. I used to open 1/2 the package and put them in an apothecary jar, it would not hold all of the bags easily. Now? I have a lot of space left, which just reaffirms that yes, there is about 1/2 the amount of tea in each teabag now. When is the greed and shrinkflation going to stop with these companies?

    Dependable black tea

    I don't need fancy tea, I just need a fast and dependable cup of tea, and Lipton is just fine for daily use. For special occasions i have a whole closet full of more expensive options, but if I just want a plain cup of milk tea in the morning with my breakfast, this is the tea I reach for.
