Q: Is the a pound limit for these doses.

submitted by DMH - 8 years ago
  • A: The cat is supposed to weight at least 1.5 lbs (so pretty much around a 7-8 week old kitten) and up is recommended

submitted byMrClarke - 8 years ago
  • A: Not that I know of. I use one applicator per cat. Our cats range in size from about 4 lbs (3 months old) to 10 lbs (7 year old).

Q: is this product odorless?

submitted by black kitty mommy - 20 days ago
  • A: Most pet owners report little to no noticeable smell once it’s applied. You might notice a very faint, alcohol‑like scent right at the time of application from the liquid carrier, but this typically dissipates quickly as it dries.

Flea infestations can take up to three months to fully resolve because of the complexity of the flea life cycle. An infested home will have all four life stages present: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult fleas. FRONTLINE® PLUS for Cats kills adult fleas and helps stop new eggs and larvae from developing, but they do not affect the eggs and larvae that are already in the environment. These early life stages must mature before they can be exposed to the product on your pet. As they hatch and develop, they will eventually jump onto your pet to feed, come into contact with the treatment, and be killed. This process takes time, which is why infestations do not clear up immediately. Please call 888-637-4251 if you have any further questions.

    Better Than Nothing, I Guess

My 2 cats and I moved into a new home & they had fleas w/in the week. It was a Sunday & I could not get into a Vet so got this from Target. I have used these types of topical treatments on a variety of pets throughout the years and usually w/no issues. I put this on both cats. One cat ended up with a patch of missing hair where I put the treatment. I don’t know it was the product or maybe my cat scratching it. The other cat did fine. Of course, I have been vacuuming & washing everything like crazy, which has been exhausting. I noticed a reduction, but it didn’t seem as effective as in the past and now could not get a prescription for weeks due to just giving them this. I plan to stick w/the prescription in the future (that also has the dewormer w/it)

An infested home will have all four life stages present: eggs, larvae, pupae, and adult fleas. FRONTLINE® Brand Products kill adult fleas and help stop new eggs and larvae from developing, but they do not affect the eggs and larvae that are already in the environment. As they hatch and develop, they will eventually jump onto your pet to feed, come into contact with the treatment, and be killed. This process takes time, which is why infestations do not clear up immediately. Consistent monthly use of FRONTLINE Plus for Cats is essential to break the cycle. All pets in the household should be treated, and outdoor areas may still pose a risk due to wildlife, which can carry fleas. Remember, even if you continue to see fleas, the product is working. It is killing adult fleas and helping prevent new generations from taking hold. Patience and consistency are key to fully clearing fleas from your home. does not work!!!

my cat still has fleas!! this didnt work and the only medication that did was Advantage plus but target doesnt sell it anymore what happened?
1 reply from Frontline Team team - 7 months ago
Do not reapply FRONTLINE® PLUS for Cats for 30 days. Seeing fleas after using FRONTLINE Plus for Cats does not mean the product isn’t working. Fleas can still jump on your cat before coming into contact with the treatment. Once applied, the product spreads through your cat’s skin oils and begins working to kill fleas and prevent them from reproducing. Continued monthly use on all dogs and cats in the home is important to break the flea life cycle and protect your pet. Does not kill adult fleas or stop the cycle. Would not recommend!!

Flea infestations problems are complex. The life cycle of fleas means that new adults can be emerging daily. If there are animals in or around your house that are not on a flea prevention product, then fleas will continue to be a problem. All animals around the house need to be on flea prevention every month. Non-domesticated animals like raccoons and opossums are visiting the places where your cats live can help feed fleas and allow them to lay eggs. All dogs and cats in the household need to be treated with a species appropriate product to fully control existing flea populations. Do not reapply FRONTLINE® PLUS for Cats for 30 days. Use once monthly to break the flea life cycle. You are likely seeing NEW fleas on your pet, which are jumping on your pet as it moves through infested areas in and around your home. Depending on the severity of the existing infestation, you may continue to see new fleas jumping on your pet for three months or more. No longer effective

This has always worked in the past. The last two times I have used it, on two of my cats, it leaves a greasy spot, no matter how much I part their hair and it seems to not travel down their body to be effective. They act as if they haven’t even been treated.

I tried this on my two cats-one still had fleas, the other doesn’t. I have used this before with mixed results. Wish it worked since it’s so expensive, but don’t bother paying more for it.

    Does nothing for fleas!

I used this on 8 cats. 2+ weeks later, all the cats still have fleas. I had to take them to the vet and purchase a different treatment. This product is defective and does nothing for fleas. A complete waste of money.

    Allergic reaction

Put this on my 1 year old outside cat. A few days later I noticed that the fur in spot on his neck was gone. He must have been allergic to the medicine. The next month I tried a different brand and there was no reaction.

    Not safe!!

Bought this cause it had decent reviews and is the brand our vet recommends. After using it following the instructions our cat only got itchier and 2 days after applying it I came home to find she had ripped out a bunch of furr on her back trying to get it off as well as giving herself a wound on her ear from scratching, quickly washed it off and took her to the vet asap. She’s recovering now. please be very careful. This product apparently has a long history of bad reactions and death which I’ve sense learned of. It’s also banned in Canada. If you do choose to use it please make sure it is high enough up on their back that they can’t ingest it cleaning themselves, It’s probably the only reason our cat is okay after this.

We have been using frontline on our kitty for years. For some reason, the box we bought from target broke him out in a terrible, splotchy, red rash where the product was applied. To the point he was bleeding. It Had to be specific product sold. I will not be using the other 2 month supply in the box. No resolution was made
