The bottom of the unit must be at least 7 inches (18 cm) above the top of the crib mattress. Always use only the included mounting straps (Perfect Fit Crib Attachment™). Never add extra strings, cords, or ties. If the crib side is adjustable, it must be locked in the highest position when the baby is in the crib. When used at least 7 inches above the mattress, the light doesn't shine directly into the infant's eyes. It offers four different modes, so you can use it with music and no lights or the drift off function, which will dim both the lights and sounds every 10 minutes to lull the baby to sleep.

Q: Characters starting to make squeaking noises. We have changed out batteries numerous times and the horrible would sounds won't stop. It sounds like the characters need to be oiled or lubed up in order for the noise to stop. Is there a way to fix this??

    Breaks quickly despite swapping batteries before first use

    When setting this toy up, I swapped the batteries immediately as it instructs, but it made a loud annoying noise when the fish moved around. It stopped working after only a month of light use. I tested my batteries and they are all good. Some of the features don’t work at all - I can only get it to play songs. No lights or movement. Super frustrating and wish it wasn’t too late to return it. I saw other comments about it not sitting right on their crib or falling. I find ours to be very secure and easy to install. I do agree with others that it’s too loud, even on the lower volume setting.

    Wouldn't Recommend this musical crib toy. I purchased this as a gift for a friend who is having a baby. I returned it. I originally went to Target to exchange it, thinking the one delivered to me was damaged. When I went to check the other ones at the Target store. I realized that the music doesn't play consistent long enough to keep a babies attention on the toy. It plays music for less than 30 seconds and shuts off. Very disappointing. It's a very cute musical toy, but in my opinion it's not worth the purchase due to the music not playing long enough to sooth a baby or keep the baby interested in the toy. It's like a tease and the baby is wondering why the music stops so fast. Do not recommend.

    loud and no option without sound

    My daughter is absolutely obsessed with this but 1 month later and I have to exchange it for a new one!!

    My daughter LOVES this. It’s easy to assemble and switch out the batteries and for her to work. She’s 16 months old and she takes pride in turning on and off her fish tank with the giant star button. She doesn’t ever use the star shell remote but I find it gets in the way in her crab and is unnecessary currently for her but could be good later. She ran the batteries down in about 2 weeks she uses it so much! I just started my 3rd battery change last night and I got this item at the end of February 2026. However something I noticed yesterday and today is a slight screeching with the movement of the fish, which I saw noted by other reviews but I ignored. However it’s only been a month and this is a problem especially for a $40 item. I’m likely going to have to exchange it for a new one if it can’t be fixed with a troubleshoot, but this seems extremely wasteful and unnecessary when I see many people have complained about this. This would be a 5 star item and I would even get a 4 star for the issue, however it comes down to a 3 for the extra time and trouble I will have to put into exchanging this as a full time, disabled, stay at home Mom that depends on online deliveries and little issues can be very big hurdles for me. I’m determined to get this exchanged asap but I’d like to see accountability from the company - fix your product!! Also, the tightening strap doesn’t really do much for an active and curious toddler, but otherwise works well and is very user friendly.

    Too loud and too fast

    Short lifespan

    My baby loves this soother but when it “died” and I put new batteries in it and it was dead still, I did some googling, come to find out this is completely normal and this product actually stops working after a few months. 5 months is how long it lasted. Will not replace this with another soother from Baby Einstein.

    Soothes my car hating baby

    So I’m convinced my baby hates the car. I never had this happen. He is the fourth child and we are all suspecting that he might get car sick or that he feels lonely. But when I turn this bad boy on my baby is the calmest and the music soothes him enough to go to sleep. This is heaven sent. Now I can go through the drive thru being able to hear without the screaming baby in the back.
