Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron Care Kit Yellow

I purchased this to clean my 10” skillet. Using the brush the first time, the side chipped off and the bristles fell out. The other stuff is good.

The spray is canola oil which is considered a bad oil.

Wish they sold a set with the chain linked sponge instead of the brush

The brush and scrapper are great! Just don’t use the canola oil! Canola oil was originally used on steam engines, diesel engines, and to light up lamps before they started messing with the level of euric acid and stripping it off chemically - an extensive process that makes it cheaper and apt for many foods due to its bland taste and as an oil to extend shelf life. When you season the pans with canola oil, the heat causes instability of the oil's molecules, which turns the oil rancid, destroys the omega-3s in it, and can even create trans fats causing a lot of inflammation at the cellular level in your body, heart problems (one of the leading causes), and memory issues. Use organic avocado cold pressed oil or organic olive oil instead, as they have a higher smoking point and can withstand higher temperatures.

If you own a lodge skillet you need this car kit!! Instructions are simple to follow and it makes the skillet almost as good as new.

I really liked the cleaning kit. I bought it more for the cleaning after using my skillet. The brush works great gets out the rest of the debri left by cooking that the scraper doesn’t get. The scraper is nice since so many of these scrapers are small and hard to grasp. Got a lot of the stuck on stuff. The oil is ok, but regular Wesson oil will work, so I’ll use Wesson after the cab runs out. Over all it’s great!!! And the booklet is nice too explains what not to do which I didn’t know.

Have recently purchased 2 (small and large) Lodge cast iron pans. This product works wonders after use and cleaning to add a layer of protection to the cast irons pans.

Great kit for cleaning your cast iron, especially with the scraper and scrubbing brush! My original handle holder on my cast iron was also kind of broken so it’s perfect how this came with a new handle holder for me to replace it! This is a game changer since it makes cleaning so much easier, I will be using my cast iron even more now!

Very useful and comes with instructions. The spray is an actual spray, I thought it would come out as a thick oil. The handle grip works well but only useful for UP TO 500 degrees. The scraper is great too, to get all the gunk off your pan. Overall, a really great package for your Lodge cast iron pan. Lodge really thought their products through, especially with the cleaning items.

This isn't needed. Season the cast iron with canola oil 2/3 times before you use it and let the oil smoke off between each time. Use it 5/6 times before you try cooking anything like eggs, and heat the pan up decent before adding food to it to prevent sticking. Clean the pan with salt and oil. It sounds weird but it gets any stick on's off with out using oil.

Might find you to want to get the chainmail sponge too but this is a good start, especially for the handle grip as I am constantly grabbing the handle.
