Hi - Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing your experience. However, I am very sorry to hear it was not a positive one. Some children tend to be trickier when it comes to diaper leaks. (I am a mother of two boys, and I can honestly tell you we ran into the same issue at first with my oldest). Maybe I can try to help troubleshoot. A couple of additional things you can try (in no particular order): - If your child is a tummy sleeper, you can try to lay a booster pad horizontal across the inside top edge of the diaper and make sure the diaper is snug across your child's waist. - Place a pad in vertical completely inside the leg cuffs (this is important) - but position it a little more towards the back for a girl, or towards the front for a boy - If using with a boy, ensure your son's genital is pointed down when securing the diaper Use two booster pads - Move a size-up on your diaper at night or try pairing with an overnight diaper Diapers leak because of something we call the diaper-gap. Basically, diapers are designed to be a little loose fitting inside to leave room for your child's skin to breathe and not constantly be in contact with the wetness. This is great for the daytime, but at night it can cause problems because the urine isn't absorbed quick enough. Our pads work to fight leaks by closing this diaper-gap allowing the urine to instantly be absorbed by the pad and wicking the moisture away down to the diaper's core. The goal is trying to play the booster as close and as direct to the source of the output as possible. Again, thank you for reaching out. Hi! Thank you for sharing your story with us. We also created Sposie pads with adhesive strips on the back for heavy sleepers. This adhesive strip sticks to the diaper core and stays no matter how much your child rolls or moves in his sleep. If you are trying our 4-6 pad now, try moving to the 2T-5T pad. It is the same length as our 4-6 pad but comes with an adhesive strip AND is 20% more absorbent! 🐣

The problem you described is most certainly unique and not an experience our customers should expect when using our booster pads. I can assure you the sandy/gritty substance is actually are gel beads. Which are 100% non-toxic and not harmful to you or your child. To ensure the product is being used correctly, the inner absorbent core should not be removed from the outside fabric that has the adhesive strip on it. This fabric is what keeps the gel beads contained once they absorb moisture. What we would like to do is send you out a brand new bag to see if a better experience may result.
