Won’t stop shedding

This rug sheds so bad! It’s been about five months and it’s still shedding white fibers at an enormous rate. I vacuum it often and nothing is helping. Looks like dog hair all over our floor and furniture. It’s a constant daily battle to keep everything clean. Also, there’s no backing to this rug so it’s very slippery on our hardwood floor and the edges don’t stay in place, even with a rubber grip underneath. I know that’s common, but it’s worth pointing out if You don’t want to reposition it constantly.
