Melissa & Doug Wooden Surprise Gift Box Infant Toy (5pc): Fine Motor Skills, MDF Composite Material, Baby Learning Toy

Concept is great but I think box should be made of a soft material not wood. My Grandson fell on the box and bruised his face nothing that wouldn’t heal but if it was made with a cotton material would not have caused a problem.

Received this as a gift and love the box with the mirror, however, the corners of the box seem sharp and it makes me nervous for her to play with it.

The concept was great, but the wooden box has very sharp corners and edges. I think this is looking at a possible injury, especially if the child tries to get their face close to box opening to see them self in the mirror.

Great toy for baby. Good use of imagination and creativity.

I bought this for my 9 mo old grandson. The corners of the box are very pointy and sharp. We did not think it would be safe and returned it. I was disappointed and surprised that a Melissa and Doug toy would have this type of construction.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a cute baby toy. The toys come in a wooden birthday present and the inside of the box has a mirror. The top of the box has Velcro so the box will close to prevent the toys from falling out. My baby really loved the rattle ball and the crinkle toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toy is super cute and great for 6 months and up. I gave it to my one year old and he loves it. His favorite is the crinkle "tissue paper". I thought this would be a great sensory activity for him and familiarize him with presents. My three year old loves playing along with it as well. I think the mirror in the bottom of the box is an awesome touch, and another cool feature is the removable box top.

She loved opening it and taking out all the toys and then putting them all back. The box has a mirror in the bottom and she loved fixing herself after taking out the toys. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently introduced the Melissa & Doug surprise box to our 1 year old son, and it was a big hit! I'm happy to report that it kept him engaged for quite some time. Imm a firm believer that less is more, and this is a prime example. The box is made of wood and Is colorful but not in a jump-in-your-face kind of way. He loved opening the top (velcro), and taking out the contents one by one. The ball was his favorite! He enjoyed listening to the sound it made as he shook it around. And the best part was his expression of delightful surprise as he got all the objects out and caught a glimpse of his own reflection in the mirror at the bottom of the box!! He loved it, and it allowed for many different ways of interacting (peekaboo, pointing to body parts, etc). I do recommend this toy wholeheartedly and I would buy it again if needed!! I feel that our son can learn social play, get sensory stimulation, and just have fun with this awesome surprise box all at the same time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! My son absolutely loves his gift box from Melissa&Doug. He enjoys it and plays with it nonstop. The fun part is that he gets to unwrap the gift box as many times as he wants and he always gets excited when he sees himself in the mirror. The goodies inside were super cute and keep my son entertained for a long time. It is his new favorite toy! I received this as a free samples in exchange for my honest review and I have to say that this gift box is a 10/10!

My 9 month old son had very little interest in it at first, but the more we played with it, the more he enjoyed it. We often put other toys that he enjoys more in the box for him to open. He loves the ball and the crinkly blanket, but could care less for the bear and "book" that are included. The mirror on the bottom is a very nice touch and does make the box more interesting. This is probably not an item we would have initially bought because it is a little pricey for what it is, but are thankful we have it and do enjoy playing with it. We haven't used a Melissa & Doug product yet that we don't love. This one is not quite our favorite, but is a good addition to what we already have. I don't know that I would recommend a friend to purchase this, but it would be a good idea to add to a baby registry.
