Q: My vacuum runs for about 5 minutes then it over heats. Filter is clean. Container is probably a quarter to 1/2 full before over heating. I bought it a year ago. Any suggestions?

A: To access the dust cup, detach the handheld vacuum from the wand. Press the two release latches on the bottom of the dust cup at the same time, then slide off the dust cup. To store the handheld vacuum while emptying the dust cup, hang the hand vac from the storage hook on the wand. Align the catch on the side of the handheld vacuum over the hook. Hold the dust cup over a trash receptacle. Press the Empty button (with the trash can icon) on the front of the dust cup and pull open the lid until it clicks and locks open. Tap gently to empty the contents and remove any debris from the cone-shaped screen inside the dust cup. Close the dust cup lid, pressing until it clicks into place. To reinstall the dust cup, slide in the front end first, then the back, until both ends click into place.

Q: I can’t remove the piece to be able to use the small attachments. Even my husband who is much stronger then me has trouble. Is this an ongoing problem? This is my 3rd shark vacuum, never had this problem before. Could it be defective?

This vacuum lasted 2 months in my house, two dogs and I used it daily, but it never had to work that hard. The motor simply died. I cleaned the filters and emptied the canister regularly. Just a cheap product. Disappointed and never buying Shark again.

It's light and powerful enough. However, It is not swivel with ease. Much harder to move than my other Shark. It takes too much work to move a light vacuum. I'd love to trade it in for an easy swival and heavier weight!

The suction power is awesome. It took me a couple of times using it to get used to it - it is very "top-heavy". One of the best things about it is the light!!! You can actually SEE everything. Gets underneath furniture like a breeze and it's handling ability great. Five stars.

Bought in September 2023. Worked really well but suddenly motor died and stopped working this week. Normal use. Somewhat disappointed as it didn’t last 2 years. I’ve had other shark products and have been happy. This was a surprise.

This stick vac is great for what it does but build quality is lacking. This vacuum is not like its German competition in terms of build quality. Care has to be taken in using it, so you don't break it. Repairs are tedious to impossible per many online videos I've seen for Shark vacuumss. However, it does pick-up a good amount of dust. For flooring in my house, I still use a broom to push debris from the walls and corners to the middle of the floor and then have the vacuum suck it up. Attachments and filters are pricey. I suggest you buy refurbished parts and/or attachments and search A****N for compatible filters that cost a lot less. Suction is good for its size and weight and it is convenient for dusting provided you have the correct attachments. Emptying the dust canister is a bit of a messy affair. I use the hose from my regular full-size vacuum to clean it out. I like that hair does not get easily stuck in the rollers of this stick vacuum. Using this vacuum, It is a lot easier to clean awkward parts of a room that are harder to reach with a heavier, full-size vacuum, which is a problem with all the electronics collecting dust on our desks and tables. For long cleaning sessions this is a better option than a cordless vacuum and a better value.

I read the great reviews about this vaccine, only to experience the complete opposite. This vaccine overheats everytime I use it and shuts off halfway through me using it. It barely picks up my dogs hair from my hardwood floors, it gets stuck and clumps up. It also will pick up crumbs and as soon as you pick up the vacuum and move it they all fall back on the floor. If I could rate this vacuum -1 I would

I bought this to replace my Shark from 2014, The new shark has better suction ,but the dirt container is smaller and the power cord is a couple of feet shorter! Also I can not vacuum the dog beds with this as it seems to shut down from jamming the roller on the pillow like dog bed but overall I am happy with this and it does do a better job

After I had a problem with my old Shark Rocket vacuum, I was sent the UltraLight Pet Vac. What a huge improvement. Now I know the old vac was not picking up, the amount of dirt and dust I was able to get out my carpet was incredible.

i’m a devoted fan of shark vaccuums, but this is by far the worst vaccuum (of any brand) i’ve ever had the misfortune of using. it had insanely powerful suction the first 1-2 times i used it, and then basically none at all. i have thoroughly cleaned all components, and will empty the canister constantly but nothing really helps. i can actually see dust falling back out of the vaccuum as i clean. there seem to be critical flaws in the design that can’t be overcome. fortunately, the product has a 5 year warranty so i’m really hoping to get a credit towards another product. for now, i’m using my shark hand vac to clean my hard floors, and letting my carpet remain a mess.

but it is a great powerful tool. Heavy duty. Really got the dust off the vinyl floor and all the overstuffed furniture. A little bit hard to maneuver. Works on non shag area rugs. Having the dirt cup is so much better than bags. Didn't really get the scent thing to work but don't need it.

Worked great but less than a year later the motor went bad. The switch between mode 1 and 2 doesn't do anything and it's extremely loud and hot (you'll need earplugs to use it). It has security screws so you can't take it apart easily to replace the motor.

I am pleased with my new vacuum cleaner. It picks up the pet hair as stated in the advertisement. There seems to be a lot of suction power. I do find that it is a lot noisier than I had expected, and it feels heavier than the 9 pounds that it stated. But all in all, I am very pleased.
