i bought this and the light never came on and my airflow never even worked. reached out to maxi cosi and got no reply. the car seats really nice but i could’ve spent the same on a nuna had i known the ac wasn’t going to work.

It is very bulky. Fan stopped working 2 months later. For 400 not worth it.

Unfortunately, after the third car seat (customer service gave me no issues with sending me a new car seat well within warranty) the fan was non-operable. I tired it in another car and and the fan still did not work. Very unfortunate because when it did work (for a brief moment) it kept my baby cool as she tends to overheat. Save yourself the frustration.

We bought this a few months ago because our 2 year old was having heat issues in a normal car seat in the southern US. The Pria Chill was an instant night and day difference in comfort for our daughter and she went on and on about how “this seat keeps me cool”. She complains when she’s in another car seat now. The only complaint I have this that you can’t turn the fan on manually, it only runs when the sensor thinks it should. Our little one runs hot and has asked several times for us to turn the fan on because she’s warm but the car seat hasn’t decided it’s warm enough to run the fan yet and we have to explain to her that we can’t control the fan. The on/off switch in the power cable is only to turn the system on or off, not the fans themselves.

i’m going to leave a very honest review that isn’t on here, but should be. -For starters, the fans did not even work -it is very very bulky -installation was complicated and stressful -when going to exchange it, i have to ship the defective one, then wait for them to receive it for me to get another one shipped. Why does my child have to go without a car seat for the entire process just because they couldn’t send me one that worked? Luckily my child does love the comfort of this car seat though compared to what he was originally was using which was the “Graco SnugRide 35 Lite LX Infant Car Seat”

Well the fan is a great feature, sadly the one I received didn’t work. The blue light and fan feature never turned on despite trying in different power outlets and differ t cars. Reached out to Maxi Cosi and they sent me a new one, which worked for a day and then also stopped working. The day it did work, the fan is very subtle and I’m not sure if I felt it was worth the extra cost even if it did work. Sad that such a pricey carseat is so defective. Giving two stars because it is very plush and comfortable and I prefer the fabric on this one over the original Pria because of its breathability. Can’t recommend this seat since 2 we have received are broken.

After testing the car sat for a few months I'll give this a 4 out of 5 stars. Overall the car seat is aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean when those messes happen. The magnetic chest strap made it super easy to clip one handed. You can pull and adjust without climbing in the car! I found the air fan comforting for my child when he needed a car nap. The air fan was nice to have on hot days but not sure it made a difference in cooling him down than the air did. I gave 4 starts since its easy to clean and the looks is nice.

I have great things to say about this car seat! I've noticed that the backseat of my car does not have very good air flow (especially for a rear-facing child) and while I'm riding comfortably with AC blasting, I notice my child is sweaty when arriving at our final destination. This always presents a challenge: do I crank the AC and freeze myself out, or keep the car at a moderate temperature and hope my child doesn't mind the sweaty hair? This car seat provides the solution with the built-in fans and automated sensors to turn on and off when optimal temperatures are reached. The look of the car seat is stylish and relatively slim, although to incorporate the fans, the head rest is large and bulky, but my child didn't mind. I really appreciate that this seat can grow with my little one, and while I didn't need to use this for an infant, the pillows provided were firm and looked like they would have been extremely supportive for this function. A few design features that I think could make this a 100% winning seat are in relation to the cord and fan features. The cord is nice and long to allow it to reach the front seat in my car; however, in larger vehicles, or if using this in a third row, the cord would be unlikely to reach any power. I tried following instructions to keep the cord out of the way by tucking it under the seat, but in the rear facing position, it still has to drape and makes a second child crawling under it to their seat more challenging. A channel within the seat to hide the cord would be ideal. The power for this is also only a 12V; however, having this run-on USB power would have been more ideal. Adjusting the height positions on this seat was more challenging than I'm used to, but it was just something I had to adjust to. Overall, I would recommend this car seat if you are looking for a nice option to keep your kiddos cool! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this all in one car seat.

I was sent this car seat from Stellar Product Testing Panel and was excited from the beginning because I love the Maxi Cosi brand. Just like I expected the design and colors are beautiful and it's covered in a thick cushion. It looks exactly like the pictures online. But there is nothing "cooler" than the fan feature. I have an older car without air vents in the back and with a rear facing car seat this is a serious problem. The air never hits my poor baby and it gets hot where I live. I've tried a clip on fan but he just pulls it off and plays with it, if I put it further away he can't feel it. It just doesn't work. Even in California it's not hot enough in December to try out this feature (it will automatically turn on when it detects a certain temperature) but I've turned it on and off and it's really genius. It's a little annoying to have a cord and I would have preferred it to attach to the usb which is closer to the seat but the cord is plenty long. I can't wait to see it in action this summer. The only thing I don't love is the chest clip feature, it's a little trickier and both sets of grandparents can't figure it out haha. Besides that minor problem I totally recommend this car seat. You won't be disappointed.

Overall this seat is a game changer for littles, especially on those hot summer days. It was a fairly easy install and the manual was extremely easy and helpful. It took a few attempts to make sure the seat was secure but after that it was smooth sailing. The fans are very easy to turn on and the indicator light is super helpful. I felt like it cooled off the seat very quickly and my baby fell asleep quickly and easily. The strap covers seemed to hinder a tight enough harness so I removed those early on. The only things I wish were different were the rear facing weight limit (40 lbs vs 50lbs), its a little larger than other seats and the fans arent able to be controlled (they sense the temperature and fluctuate between low, medium and high). Overall this is a fantastic seat! !

Thank you to Stellar Panel for providing me with this car seat in exchange for an honest review! I am really impressed with this car seat! It was very easy to install and adjust, I had no issues. I wasn't aware that the car seat would have a cord that needed to plug in but thinking about it now it makes sense. My son is rear facing so there really isn't a concern with the cord because he can't reach it. When he is forward facing I will have to take a little more care with the cord but I think it will be worth it. My son seems to run hot and I am constantly pulling him out of the car seat sweaty, especially since we live in Southern California. I love that he can stay cool since the fans can reach him much easier than my cars AC. We might use this feature a little less now since it's winter but we do still have our warm days and definitely will in the summer. The pads of the car seat seem super comfortable and even though my son can't talk to tell me, he does seem comfortable in it. The seat fits easily in my car without any issues. Overall I would absolutely recommend this seat!

My son loves this seat. He wants to get buckled in so he can feel the air. I don't have the negotiate with him to get into his seat anymore! I love that he is comfortable and that I can easily wash this if it get messy.

I want to love this car seat so bad but it is just so big!! Upon opening the box, there is no instruction manual on how to install, features of the car seat, etc. I had to go on the web to figure out how to install the seat. It seemed pretty simple, but I struggled with getting it tight enough to not wiggle around. I had to scoot my passenger seat all the way up and also lift the back of the seat in order to get it to fit and be level. For reference, I have a Chevy Tahoe. The fan system is really cool and unlike anything I've ever seen. I'm very hopeful that it will keep my little guy cool in the hot Texas summers. Fingers crossed! The material and fabric seems very comfy and high quality. The inserts that were included were also great quality, but we didn't need to use them. I especially love the magnetic chest closure because it makes getting my son in and out an absolute breeze! The cup holders are great for snacks and drinks and he can easily reach them on his own. I'm excited to continue to use it, but may have to switch out if we use my car for long rides as the passenger seat will be too squished. We really like this carseat. It is easy to install and our daughter loves to ride in it. She is comfortable and happy on car rides. The vent max cooling system is great for keeping her cool on longer car rides--no more sweaty head and back!

I really love this car seat. This will be our third Maxi-Cosi car seat (in three kids) and I've had nothing but good experiences with this brand. This new Maxi-Cosi Pria™ Chill has all the things I love about my original Pria™ (comfortable padding, high safety rating, good quality materials) and adds some great features like a magnetic chest clip, built-in strap holders, breathable fabric, and ventilation fans. We moved to South Carolina last year and the summer heat is no joke. "Hot" is my 2 year old's #1 complaint in the car, so this fan system is such a useful feature for us! I found this seat to be easy to install both rear facing and front-facing. The LATCH clips are easy-release and the straps are simple to route through when making adjustments. And, if any challenges or hiccups arise during install, Maxi-Cosi offers a virtual car seat appointment to get questions answered and provide peace of mind for a proper install. Once I got it installed, I routed the fan cord down the front of the seat, under the floor mat, and up to the center console to plug in. It was really easy to tuck away. My favorite feature is the magnetic chest clip. It makes buckling and unbuckling super easy without sacrificing a feeling of security - it clicks on tight! It did take me a few tries to get good at the unclipping, but now it comes easily. Overall, this is the same high-quality seat that I know and love from Maxi-Cosi with some added "cool" features that make life easier - a total win for me! Of note, I'm a NICU nurse so I am very familiar with fitting newborns in car seats and it is NOT an easy thing to do in some brands/models. The Pria™ Chill is recommended down to 4lbs and I feel confident that the provided newborn inserts would make this possible, so this seat could be used from the very first ride home from the hospital. The Maxi-Cosi Pria Chill car seat is a great option if you live somewhere that gets hot! The breathable, chemical flame retardant free fabric is lovely, and the fans combined with the mesh really keep kiddo cooler in the car. Fans are automatic, but you can turn off the feature with a switch too. I prefer this seat for a larger baby despite it saying it can fit 4lbs and up. For an infant I found that the infant insert pads slide down and make it difficult to tighten the straps properly. The chest clip is also quite oversized for a small infant. The seat is also tricky to angle properly for a newborn and makes install tough. For a larger baby the magnetic easy in-out chest clip is awesome, as are the strap holders. The removable dishwasher safe cup holders are amazing and the seat is easy to clean overall. It looks really nice in the car, but is a better fit for a larger vehicle. Overall I really like this seat for ease of use, especially for toddlers-preschool age kids. I would personally look at something else if you want a single birth through booster seat, or drive a compact car.

Absolutely love this seat! The fans work really well and keep my baby cool and content in his seat unlike any other seat I have owned. The fabric is very breathable while still being soft and the seat is very lightweight, making it easy to travel with and transfer between cars. Highly recommend!

This is a great car seat. The Vent Max technology has been a game changer for us. We live in Arizona, and this summer has been very hot. Knowing my girl is getting air is such a relief as she is still rear facing. The fabric is very breathable, and remains cool even though it stays in the car. I haven't used the cup holders, but they are very nice to have once my girl gets bigger. The magnetic chest clip is easy to use, and belts are easy to adjust. My baby seems to be very comfortable in the seat, and happy. The sound of the fans is just enough to let you know they are on, but not annoying. I also like that there is an indicator light, but it isn't too bright. I would definitely recommend this car seat to anyone looking for a convertible seat for their little one. I am so excited to continue to use it as she grows and turns front facing!

This seat has been such a game changer for those hot miserable summer days. The 3 speed fans keep my child cool and comfortable, specially being rear facing and not having a direct vent. The fans do have a noise but it's not loud enough to be a pain. My child seems to enjoy it and it's almost like a slight white noise. The shoulder strap are the kind that don't stay up and the buckle pad does slide off occasionally when taking my child out, so they are a pain to always be adjusting. The fabric cleans nicely and I haven't had any problems with staining. The cover is easy to remove and put back on. The mesh fabric isn't as smooth as some of their other fabrics and crumbs can get stuck in the mesh holes. I do understand that it needs to be a fabric that air can flow through so it makes sense but can be frustrating trying to vacuum out. Installing the seat was easy and straight forward. I plugged mine into the 12v plug in my trunk and ran the cord through my seat creases so it stays out of the way and is hidden. The cord is long and can easily reach the front or rear outlet. The on-off indicator light is easy to tell if it is lit up with my rear baby camera. My seat is rear facing so the manual switch is easy to reach. However, in forward facing it might not be as easy to reach. I have a Toyota RAV4 and it fits nicely behind my seat (drivers seat). I currently have two Maxi Cosi seats in the back and everyone in my family fits great. My husband usually rides passenger because it gives him more room with a forward facing seat to put his chair back (he is 6'4). All that to say it's not a gigantic seat and can fit comfortably in a small SUV. Overall, if you love the Maxi Cosi car seats you will not be disappointed with this one!

We live in Texas and it is so hard to keep my child cool, even with the AC on full blast. I always feel so bad when I take my daughter out of her seat and her back is sweaty from her car seat. This car seat has a solution for sweaty kids and I'm so here for it!! I could see this also being amazing for rear-facing kiddos who get hot too. I'm so grateful Stellar Panel provided us this car seat to try. Though it did arrive in December, we tested it out on a warmer day and it worked really well. First, it was easy to install. The directions were straightforward and easy to follow. The seat itself felt well constructed and I really liked the feel of the fabric. It feels ventilated and high tech while still being soft. It's not wool- but it's still moisture wicking. I also like that it's flame-retardant chemical free. I did knock off a star- my daughter has a hard time un-clipping the chest strap herself when we drop her off for carpool at school. But that is the only thing I don't like about this seat. I'm excited to test it in the 100+ degree temps this summer.
