A: The company's answer is frustratingly but conveniently vague. The new law requires the company to identify at least one of such chemicals. Why can't the company tell us which ones?

A: Our products may contain plastics and/or other materials which have chemical compounds, many of which are found in nature or are the byproduct of the manufacturing process itself. California Proposition 65 law requires manufacturers to notify their customers if a product contains any of the now 1,000 plus listed chemicals that may cause cancer or reproductive harm (in the opinion of the State of California). Since the majority of manufacturing materials are made from various chemical compounds, it is impossible for manufacturers to produce products without at least one of the 1,000 plus listed chemicals being present in products. Chefman takes product safety and compliance to the law very seriously. As such, all Chefman products meet or exceed National and International standards for electrical and chemical safety. We are a socially responsible company and have therefore chosen to notify our customers in accordance with the California specific requirements.

A: 160 F is the lowest you can go with this model. Then it goes up by 5 F, up to 212 F.

A: On average, the kettle will be triggered to reboil the water once it has cooled 15 degrees below the temperature it was set to. For the higher boiling temperatures (ex: 212°F – Black Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 190°F to re-boil the water. For the lower heating temperatures (ex: 175°F – Green Tea), Keep Warm will activate at 160°F and bring the temperature back to 175°F.

A: The kettle handle will be cool to the touch. The carafe exterior may get hot.

A: It's dangerously hot when it's boiling, no protection!!

A: It doesn’t shut off completely. It will stop boiling but not shut off completely.

A: Yes, the unit will automatically switch off once it has reached the target temperature.

A: Yes. The rim is plastic, as is the spout , the inside of the lid and the mesh that the water flows through.

A: The interior of the kettle is glass and stainless steel.
