Thinner than used to be, lots of bubbles
The quality of these jars is not consistent with jars I got in previous years. The glass is thinner. There’s a Ton of bubbles. Some jars arrived broken. And the rubber seal on the Lids seems thinner too. I hope this is not the new normal for Ball jars.

I do miss the old Ball jars.
I normally have good luck with Ball jars but this time I feel let down. Maybe its just an 'off' batch but still. I pulled them out to prep for pressure canning and after looking them over I noticed some things that make me consider NOT using these in my pressure canner - differences in glass thickness in multiple jars (some have a thick side and a thin side), dimpled/flattened sides (some seem to have smooshed sides- like they are trying to be square jars), ripples in the glass, more air bubbles than normal throughout the glass, and the lids look like they have been used/sealed prior to even being open. some have 'popped' as if sealed as well. Please see pictures for a better idea of what I see.

New Twist On A Classic
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A smooth version of the classic ball jar! I’ve only used these for drinking glasses so far but from how smooth they feel holding them, I think it will be very easy to affix a sticker for canning. They do lose a little of their charm and practicality without the other classic markings however. I hope these will be an addition to the line up and not replace the original we all know and love.

Perfect size too — I use mine for leftovers, my overnight oats, random sauces I pretend are homemade, and honestly, they look good just sitting on the shelf.
