Description
Take it back to the golden era of the ’80s and ’90s BMX with the Razor Flashback kick scooter–Razor’s homage to the early days of BMX and the company’s Californian heritage. As fun to look at as it is to ride, the Flashback is a bold-colored feast for the eyes and soul. With dual hand brakes sitting atop the BMX-inspired riser handlebar, you can make easy and intuitive stops on this smooth ride. That smoothness comes from the two 12-inch (305 mm) mag wheels that provide exceptional bump-absorption for those moments when the asphalt or sidewalk loses its composure. The extra-large deck gives you plenty of room to stand on. Designed for riders ages 8 and up, the Flashback is truly the nostalgic stuff of dreams.

Great scooter. I bought two. My kids are 4’8” and 5’ 1” and the height is perfect. Don’t forget to adjust the brakes before you start riding. May be a little more than other scooters but worth it!

DO NOT BUY! This scooter has a single snap button pin holding the handle bars to the Y fork Bar (where the front wheel is). I bought this scooter almost exactly one year ago and this dumb pin has broken twice! My 10 year old is NOT abusing this scooter, or riding hard. No tricks or crazy stunts just regular riding. When you contact the company, instead of sending you a .30 cent piece they can ONLY send the entire fork and they charge you for it. RIDICULOUS from a company like RAZOR that specializes in scooters. This is a really poor deisgn choice, becuase when that 30 cent pin breaks the $150 scooter is unsafe to ride. Buy a different brand.

Great scooter if you don't mind leaving it lying on the ground all the time, constantly scratching up the handlebars and other parts of the scooter. Clearly the designers failed in the original production Razor so why not introduce a kick stand accessory to go with this????

Thank you for your feedback. We do offer a variety of scooters with kickstands however the Flashback is not designed with one. We will pass your feedback on to our design team for consideration.

Once assembled, the brakes were not gripping well which is very concerning considering this is for my 9yo. Also, it’s quite cumbersome, heavy, doesn’t fold, not easy to throw in the suv as it doesn’t collapse, etc. We had it in the living room and it only makes wide/short turns because the base is so large. It’s not a practical on-the-go scooter. I returned it.

Just bought 2 of these scooters for my kids. The scooters are great except for 1 major design failure - no kickstand! Come on Razor, you can do better! Since you left the kickstand out of the initial design, please at least create an add-on kickstand accessory for these.

The back tire blew out on its own, not worth 130. My son didn't even dlget to enjoy it for 1 week. Do not recommend.

The kids like it, however I notice some design problems: The deck is short for standing on, so wish deck area was a little bigger/longer. There is no fender/fender brake like other kick scooters for the back wheel, so sometimes I put foot on the back wheel by accident when it is moving. There is a turn stop on the front wheel handlebar, so you can only turn the front wheel about 45 degrees in either direction of center. The lack of being able to turn the front wheel more than 45 degrees makes it difficult to turn around and go back the way you just came if you are going back and forth in front on the sidewalk. Basically you have to pick up the scooter to turn it around. There is no kickstand. An optional kickstand would be nice.

Our daughter absolutely loves to scoot on this Razor scooter! She loves to coast downhill on it too. She looks so calm as she glides by. We were searching for a scooter with large pneumatic wheels for a smooth ride. This scooter delivers on the smooth ride. It handles hard surfaces and a hard packed gravel surface but is not very good on lawn. The front axle is forward of the line of the forks which helps to make the steering more stable. The front and rear hand brakes make it easy and worry free to stop. The base plate can easily accommodate both feet of a 7 year old. Both wheels spin well. They are probably ball bearing wheels. The hand brakes are just regular bicycle side-pull brakes. Set up was easy. It does help to have a second person to help you. Brake adjustment is easy if you have one person to pull on the end of the metal cable with pliers while holding the black cable housing to the caliper. The second person pushes the brake pads to sit several millimeters from the rim while then tightening the lock nut. The inner tubes use standard auto-sized valves. When it comes to inflating the tyres, the clearance between valve tip and wheel is a bit tight, but do-able. The scooter fits in our car trunk for when we want to scoot at the park or bikeway. Overall the build-quality on this scooter feels much more like that of a bicycle than a typical kick scooter.

Purchaced this scooter to rid off road and its pretty good. Pushing it can be a bit tough but if you loosen the bolts, it can roll farther. I would have liked to pay a bit less but I am satisfied with what I got.

This is a great scooter for an older child. We got this for our 13 year old. Since it has street tires, he can ride it around the block to hang out with friends. The only drawback is that the handlebars are not ajustable. My son is on the taller side so it would have been better if we could raise the handlebars.

Well after our child received this for Christmas, on his first use he had complained that the brakes didn't work. So like any big box store bike, it was obvious that the brakes needed some adjustment. Not a biggy. Well the first issue was the rear brake cable was mis-manufactured and frayed. Again -no biggy, called razor support and a new cable is on its way. From there, I was able to adjust the brakes but no matter what a person does they rub on the wheels. Upon further inspection, found that the wheels are not "true" and there is about 1/4 inch of run-out as the wheel spins. So no matter what a person does the brake will always rub on the high spot of the wheel (both front and rear), that or you have to adjust the brakes so loose that they don't work. Called Razor and raised the concern, and with no questions asked there is a new set of wheels getting shipped. Long story short, the scooter looks nice and reminds me of the one I had growing up in the early 90s. The manufacturing quality on the other hand is not the best (not that I had the bar set very high for a product that costs just over a hun). In the end, the support from Razor is quick and incurs minimal hassle... hopefully the new wheels show up and they spin true. If I hadn't experienced these issues, I would give it a 5 star.

I would give this scooter 5 stars if it had a kickstand. I feel like that simple addition would be really helpful. Otherwise, this scooter is really sturdy and a smooth ride! Assembly was pretty straightforward. My 8 and 6 year olds have been enjoying it. This one with the tires seems much safer than the ones with the small hard "roller blade" type wheels. Add a kickstand and I'd give it 5 stars without hesitation!

I received this scooter for my daughter who is about to turn 8. I tried to put this scooter together on my own, but my husband had to help me adjust a few things. The brakes were rubbing the tires at first but eventually we figured it out. One other complaint is our air pump to our bicycles did not fit these tires. I brought in to a local tire shop and they were able to fill the tires there. Let’s hope that these are the only issues. Visually, scooter is really pretty and has a retro vibe. My daughter loves it. Hopefully, it will last for years to come.
