About this item

Highlights

  • Prominent decoy button can be pushed by child, with no effect
  • Hinge hide functional buttons in plain sight
  • Easy installation
  • Simple operation
  • Unique design fits most lever handles
Curious kids try to explore everywhere, but the Safety 1st OutSmart Lever Lock helps you keep them safer with the first ever decoy button. Your child will think the decoy button will let them open the door, but pushing it has no effect. You’ll know that the surface on the sides hides the actual secret to opening the door. The Lever Lock is a clever way to prevent your little explorer from accessing off-limit rooms. It installs easily and can be operated by an adult with a squeeze on the hidden buttons built into the hinge. The decoy button won’t do anything when pushed, but adults in the know can easily open the door. To deactivate the lock when not in use, push the lock arm down until you see the yellow deactivated indicator.

I received this to review. This was very easy to install, and the dummy button keeps little ones from figuring out how to unlock it. Overall, it works really well.see moreof the reviewer's review

like most baby proofing things, it's annoying for adults (and isn't the most aesthetically pleasing to eyes) but it works great for it's intended purpose. my 15 month old watches carefully as we use the babyproof locks on everything and has figured several of them out, so it is just a matter of time...see moreof the reviewer's review

I received the Outsmart Lever Lock as a free sample just as my little one became VERY interested in opening our patio doors. I found it to be easy to install and my little one was not able to make her "great escape". I am buying additional Outsmart Lever Locks for the basement door and for the doors...see moreof the reviewer's review

My toddler locked me in our guest room which left her unsuprevised until I eventually broke through it. If you use this product make sure you are never in the room because although it is tough for a child to unlock it is easy for them to lock you in! Scary!

The concept of this product is great, especially since i havent found anything else for lever handles. HOWEVER, there shoud be a warning label on these!! If the lock is not all the way down, it can easily be pushed up without having to push the buttons and my 2.5 year old has figured this out and ha...see moreof the reviewer's review

DANGER, DANGER. If you install this on the inside of the door and engage it and shut the door the child will be locked inside until you break the door down. If you install it on the outside (the correct way) and you happen to be in the room and the child engages the lock and shuts the door now you'r...see moreof the reviewer's review
