This toaster does in fact toast make toast and the build quality is decent. That is why it gets 2 and not 1 stars, you will get toast, i think it will last. The main issue is with the UI everything about it seems to have been designed as if nobody used it before it went into production. Here is a list of problems: 1. You can’t see the number display if you are more than 4 feet tall when you push down the toaster paddle. And you can’t see the number before you push it down because it won’t let you. 2. The numbers reset to three out of six every time. Even if you want your toes consistently toasted a different number, you can’t change it my Cuisinart never did that kept the number that was last entered. 3. If you want to change the number, you have to start from three every time and then cycle all the way back to one or two or six or whatever. Which is annoying because again, you can’t see what the number is without crouching. I’ve included a picture from my point of view of the toaster in operation. Can you see or guess what the number that is operating is under?

We welcome your feedback both positive and negative. We believe model ET2084's default medium setting is a benefit to the 'next user' who, more likely than not, would prefer medium toast. The placement of the digital display is a fair point and truly worthy of consideration. We appreciate your input and review.
