A: Dear customer, thank you for your question. When the toaster is powered on and preparing to operate, the blinking icon indicates the selected bread type and shade setting. This blinking will continue throughout the toasting process as part of the built-in program. It is normal and cannot be turned off manually. I just used it for the first time and put it on shade 2 and realized it didn’t do anything so I bumped it up to shade 3 and realized it is only toasting on one side. Will return this for sure!! The toaster is pretty but I need a toaster that works like a toaster and acts like a toaster because looks are deceiving. The 1 star is for the pretty and to be nice but if you read this review I doubt that you would want to waste your time on a one-sided toaster.
