simplehuman 58L Rectangular Dual Compartment Recycling Step Trash Can

Starts peeling within a couple months of using and they wanna blame it on wear and tear that is not covered under warranty. It’s a total disappointment. I had a simplehuman trashcan that I bought in 2014 that one was great. Didn’t start peeling or chipping away the top coating till the beginning of the year thus why I had an upgrade and got a new one. Bought this one in May and by October/November, it started peeling the top layer. I contacted customer support through the simplehuman website and they said it wasn’t under warranty. Very disappointed on the product and customer service. I wouldn’t recommend this trashcan specifically.

For the price of this product, it feels like it is not made for actual use. It’s flashy, but got scratched as we removed it from box. Also would love to be able to switch the recycling to the other side, but there’s no option to.

By far my favorite trash can very durable as well as aesthetically appealing.

This is a replacement so the review is roe the service. We already loved our can, very reliable, good looking and convenient. When we had to replace it the company went above and beyond to take care of us. Service was quick and without a glitch. I would have recommended your product anyway, but the service went above and beyond and sealed the deal.

Great size, nice looking and smooth, quite open and close. I wish the plastic liners weren’t so expensive.

I was waiting months for the restock of this gold recycler, and while I still love it better than anything else on the market - I do have some critiques of areas of improvement. (AND A TON OF GREAT THINGS TO SAY TOO) 1. The step to open the flap seems a lot lower quality than my prior simplehuman trash can’s. 2. The above prior trash can was also gold, but a warmer gold. If you are expecting that shade of gold in person when it comes in, it’s not the same. It’s still very pretty but a much softer muted gold. Which I actually quite like now after living with it for a few days, just wasnt expecting that drastic of a difference in shades to where they needed to be separated further (which worked for having on opposing ends of kitchen and dining area). 3. This may just be my ignorance, so will fully own that if so, but for the recycling portion I wish simplehuman made a recycling bag that fit in that compartment too. Because I live in an apartment and all recycling must be bagged; which must be one that’s approved for recycling purposes. So to have one of your bags work the same way for that purpose would be handy! 4. This trash can is GREAT for a single person or couple - but is a tad small for people with families and kids. I am single with a dog and cat and probably go through a bag every few days. Overall it is the nicest looking trash can I’ve ever seen in someone’s home - and I thankfully have it! I wish they eventually release a sensor version because that and the step lever quality are my only 2 real notes amongst everything. Would highly recommend this trash can or any simplehuman one to anyone out there.

My previous trash can was from SimpleHuman, and I had it for more than 20 years. When I moved to a smaller place, I needed something to handle both trash and recycling. I never thought I’d find one can that did both, but SimpleHuman came through. I love my recycler! It does exactly what I need and looks great doing it!

This recycler is not only makes your life easier by combining recycle and trash in one container. Also since you never have to touch the lid of the recycler, it always says stays clean. And the attractive look of this recycler plus its odor absorber pods allow to place this recycler in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, this item arrived dented. A bit disappointing seeing as this was $200.

This works perfectly, and even though you would think the recycling side being small would mean less recycling it means more in our house. This is really a very welcome addition to our kitchen and home.

Wanted a garbage and recycle solution and this met expectations. Love the removable recycle bin. Didn’t give 5 stars because the lid doesn’t fully close on its own. Have to push it down just a tad.

You’ve probably never thought how much better your life, your kitchen, your living space could be with a stainless steel, dual-compartment, easy step-to-open and quiet automatic closing lid, waste bin and recycler until you have such a wonderful thing. It’s then that you realize you never want there to be a time when you don’t have this simple and beautiful product.

This is a perfect solution to recycle and trash containment. But it is also an attractive solution. Form follows function. . I love the the handy trash bags and how secure they fit to the trash receptacle. My only complaint is that I would like a recyclable bag for the recycle section, it would prevent liquids from winding up in the plastic container.
