Great little device
As advertised, super thin and amazingly magnetic. Unfortunately, you have to remove it to put the phone on a charger. Otherwise , it’s pretty great.

First grip - good decision!
This is my first grip ever. Decided to get one because I got the new 17 Pro Max and needed something that would make holding it for long periods of time easier. I love the low profile and the easy rotating capabilities. I carry my phone in my front pocket and can't even tell it's on the phone. Reason for the 4 stars is because the magnetic capabilities diminished (but still works) when wireless charging, snapping it into the notch for the kickstand can be a tad bit wonky, and the feature to slide it onto your finger doesn't work great for larger hands. Despite all this - very happy with the overall value.

Strong maget
The Snap Grip 5 has a strong magnet and charge as well. A charging power is more affected by the case not the grip itself lots of color options the only feature that doesn’t work well as a kickstand maybe because the iPhone 17 Pro Max is larger than the conventional iPhone..

An immense downgrade.
I’ve been buying snap grips for years, almost since their original grip. They’ve been my favorite grips for a long, long time. They’ve snap grip 4 was by far my favorite grip of the bunch and leagues ahead of anything I’ve used. Eventually, after a couple years of use, it ended up breaking and I went to buy another one, and noticed they’d released the snap grip 5! I was hyped, thought the idea of no adhesive sounded awesome, and put in an order right away. It arrived a little while later and... it sucked? I tested it out for a few weeks just to see if I was the problem and I just needed to adjust to it, but it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. I’ve got an iPhone 15, and it was like the snap grip 5 couldn’t handle it at all. One of my all time favorite things about the snap grip was that I can stick it to steel surfaces — I literally used the feature daily when I was cooking, placing my phone on the steel part of my microwave to look at recipes or watch videos without having to prop my phone up somewhere or get my phone covered in food stuff to use it. The first time I tried it with the 5, on the same microwave and in the same spot my 4 tanked with no issue, my phone slid straight down and almost fell in the pasta I was making. I tried it in several spots, several surfaces, and it was all the same. It managed to stick relatively solidly in a few places, but it made me feel incredibly uneasy to leave my phone there after the many, many failed attempts to stick. But while that’s certainly annoying, the snap grip 5 proved to be absolutely useless with my ohsnap car mount — an incredibly expensive piece that should surely have no problems holding up its own grip, right? Wrong! I drive a lot, and I couldn’t go even a short trip without my phone shifting around on it through the whole ride, or, on *several* occasions, it literally FELL OFF! I have no desire to get in a car accident over my phone grip! When I returned the grip and was driving around without it for a few days, I was able to place my phone on there relying on nothing but the magnetic back that comes stock on the iPhone and it held up with no issues, which is insane to me. I also use a magnetic charger stand for my phone next to my bed (not an OhSnap brand) and found that the 5 couldn’t connect smoothly with that, either. Just an absolute disc of junk at every corner. Then, when reaching out to support, I was sent the wrong item back in my exchange! I exchanged my 5 for one of the few remaining grip 4s, and was just... sent back another 5? With no notice as to why? I figured I’d take the opportunity to see if maybe the last grip just had some issues, but nope. All the same problems with this other fully new grip. Absolutely devastated over the fact that I hate this new grip and there seems to be no way to ever get the old grip that I loved so much. Wish they’d just sell 4s alongside the 5s, but until they do something like that, there’s no way I’m buying another snap grip product again.

Feels cheap
The actual pop portion of the unit feels like it will break within a week. It is also uncomfortable. Nice that it charges through and sticks to my gym equipment but I would not buy again :(

Good, but could be better
Overall, I love the idea of this phone grip, but in complete practicality, I find it difficult to actually get my fingers around it without having to turn my phone around and pop open the device to get my fingers around the grip. If I use my fingers to pop it open without flipping my phone over, the disc flops down to one side and only one finger can get around it. It also spins around when I put my finger there so I can’t really quickly hold the phone properly. Also, sometimes the folding elements fold in the opposite way, so I need to pull grip open all the way and re-fold it properly to close it. I’m engineer, so I have no idea how to remedy this. I do love how great the magnets work, however.

Very good!
This is very well made!Only suggestion world be to make the central disk rubberized as the outer ring for increased grip when closed.

After A Few Weeks Review
I tried to hold out on submitting a review right after receiving my order and waited a few weeks. The material used to coat the outer ring of the Snap Grip is surprisingly smooth and for some reason, very soft to the touch. It's been able to hold my phone up on metallic surfaces, like a refrigerator, without any issue of it sliding down.Even though the Snap Grip 5 doesn't have any adhesive, after letting it stay on my phone case for a while, it actually takes a little too much force to slide off, which I think is brilliant because it'll stay there if I really want it to.I haven't tested it's charge through capabilities, but that's because I always keep a case on my phone and I don't think it can charge through a case successfully.Overall, a solid grip that I will be buying again when it eventually breaks

Good but...
Grip 5 is good overall. Same great quality and functionality we all love. I like the non adhesive option making it easier to use the grip on the different cases I have. Only downside is the magnets are weaker than the Grip 4. It will not hold the phone up on a fridgerator. It slowly slides down. Other metal surfaces like posts and cars it holds fine. Just a little disappointing there.

Disappointed
I am a blue collar worker who uses his phone for photos, paperwork, emails, etc. Been using the snap grip 5 the past 2 days and it’s a huge disappointment. The “magnet” they advertise sticking to anything with strength is a gimmick. I placed it on a filing cabinet today that is all metal... phone starts sliding down. If you don’t have a case on your phone... welp the magnets are only really strong on an actual mag safe case not just the bare phone. The phone will not fall off, but I wouldn’t trust it without an actual case. Let’s talk about the MagSafe compatibility... it’s strong ENOUGH. Doesn’t snap onto a car phone mount like a satisfying MagSafe case would. Doesn’t give you a “click” more so you just questioning yourself and making sure it actually sticks to car mount. I’ve tried it on all different types of car mounts... not impressed with the strength. The stand... this is the worse part of them all. Too flimsy. The way your phone sits up and sits on its side is just awkward. One little movement or tap to your phone... it won’t hold. The spinning mechanism should be a clicking method. Spinning method spins way too freely. I understand they’re trying to make it slim... but this is the draw back of making this slim. The ONLY consistent part is your finger placement. That’s very smooth and is helpful. Build quality is good. But functionality... it’s more frustrating. I wish I really could like this ohsnapgrip5 version, but it’s not there just yet.

Just not that great
It feels flimsy and it's just not that convenient to grip. It certainly has strong magnets but honestly most products I've used have no issue in that department. The only way this would be more valuable and worth using regularly is if it could be charged through the device. But this is not the case. It wasn't blatantly obvious that it absolutely would not work just that it might not work and they recommended taking it off every time you wanted to charge it. I decided to take a gamble to see if this was 100% the case or maybe it would work for some phones but alas, it doesn't.

Not as good as previous iterations
I have used the Snap Grip since version 3 and have enjoyed watching the company improve the design with each generation. The Snap Grip 4 Luxe has been my daily driver with absolutely zero problems. I love it.When the Grip 5 was released, I saw that it no longer requires (or ships with) an adhesive. This is one of the biggest trade-offs for the grip. My personal use-case is one where the permanence of the attachment is important. The Snap Grip 5 magnets, while strong, do not handle shear forces that my daily use seems to output. If I shake the phone in just the right way, the Snap Grip 5 will detach, which is something the Snap Grip 4 Luxe with adhesive does not do. To the credit of the Grip 5, it takes a pretty big amount of force to detach but it happens enough for me that I can't trust the grip for daily use. I'll be going back to the Snap Grip 4 Luxe for now. Additionally, the Snap Grip 5 doesn't seem to close as neatly as the Snap Grip 4 Luxe. I have had multiple instances where I push the Grip to close it and it refuses to stay shut due to one of the plastic hinges not folding properly 100% of the time. This issue was never present on the previous generation of Grip.We are now using the Snap Grip 5 as a temporary mount/kick stand for our toddler's toothbrush time. If you have a use case where the Grip is meant to be temporary and not shaken around, the Snap Grip 5 is great.

Not impressed with the Magnet
I’ve been a fan of the Snap, this would be my 3rd time owning one. I like the look the feel on my finger and the overall functionality. However, this time around I bought oh snap grip 5 and the magnet was very soft. It doesn’t hold the phone much.

Overall Good, weaker magnet
My only complaint is that the magnet on the 5 is not as strong as the 4. With the 4 I could place it on metal surfaces and it wouldn’t budge. Slides right down with the 5. That stick was useful when cooking or wanting to go hands free for a bit.

I can't understand the good reviews
Honestly I hate this thing. Because of the magnet you can't adjust where it is, so it's not comfortable for my small hands and I often can't reach the opposite side of my phone with my thumbs. The grip itself is uncomfortable on my fingers + it's clunky to open. The magnet isn't super strong. It holds to the some things well, but definitely not all. Overall I am super unimpressed and disappointed in myself that I fell for the ads. 0/10 do not recommend.
