I haven't used many of the functions just used for listening to music. It's well worth downloading the App and using the equaliser sliders in a Custom setting to get the ideal sound that you want. I am really pleased with the sound quality achieved.

These are the best headphones for long haul flights. The noise difference is spectacular. I have a small head and they fit better than most over ear headphones. While the headphones function well, I'm taking one star away because the charger cord is really short (ridiculously short), and the instructions/info packet don't contain enough information. I believe that accompanying info/instructions are an important component of the product.

Wanted a pair of noise cancelling headphones and used them to watch a movie on a short haul 3.5hours flight. They worked superbly well with my iPad. The airline engine noise all but disappears and the move was great. I then listened to my Spotify playlist wow! What a great sound! Would def. Recommend this product.

I have had the headphones for several weeks now. I am very pleased with the quality of sound although, many of their features appear to be dependent on the Sony headphones app. The app is extremely difficult to use and I have failed to get past the initial registration. As a consequence the overall combined rating I can give has to be a low one.

I purchased these headphones to use on calls in a Data Center environment. The noise canceling was awesome. So was the build and ease of use. On music the sound was flat that was fine for me because I was using it for calls. The microphone was not good. I had to talk fairly loud for people to hear me.

I bought the Sony- WH-1000XM4 wireless headphones after doing my research. Which ? magazine had reviewed them and described them as 'exceptional all round headphones' with a test score of 81. The noise cancelling works really well. I use them via bluetooth with my laptop and TV. The sound quality is really superb. They are a great buy.

I bought these headphones as an upgrade to my old WH-CH700N headphones, and I have used them over the past month. The ANC was very effective at cancelling background noise, and did very well at greatly reducing the volume of loud or consistent noises around me to the extent that I often didn't notice even rather loud noises. The sound quality is good and consistent (although I would recommend reducing the bass level by a few decibels in the equalizer settings if you want correct sound). However, I have some crucial complaints that hold back the headphones from a full 5 stars: - The headphones are not very secure on my head and often move around and fall off during any kind of movement other than passive sitting, and this is true at any of the variable length adjustments. As a result, this makes wearing the headphones more tedious and uncomfortable. This was not an issue with the WH-CH700N. DO NOT buy these headphones if you plan to do any more movement while wearing them other than passive sitting or slow walking. - The right-pad controls are absolutely awful and rarely pick up on my tapping motion to pause/unpause whatever's playing, to the extent that my headphones seem faulty. The controls do not work if you are not wearing the headphones, and so if audio is playing while you aren't wearing them, you cannot pause it. I would have vastly preferred having an assigned physical button instead. Also, it frequently occurs that my hand brushes the right pad slightly and causes "speak-to-chat" to enable which I frustratingly have to then disable. Overall, the headphones excel at ANC and audio, but have poor fit and awful controls.

My husband bought these for my birthday to replace my ear buds which keep falling out of my ears. I have been using to watch tv on my Ipad while he is watching the main set. Also listening to music in my garden to shut out the neighbours and they are doing great.They are very comfortable and come with a lovely matching case

I bought these after comparing them with the newer WH-1000XM5 and other Bose ANC headphones. I am so happy I made this choice. The equalizer settings allow for a wide range of sound profiles. ANC is superb and I'm happy you can adjust the speak-to-chat sensitivity as I didn't want it activated every time I talked to my cat! I'm sure the 5 version is equally great, but this was the best buy for me.

These headphones have excellent noise cancellation and sound quality, just as the reviews suggest. They are extremely light compared to my previous Plantronics and more comfortable than the Bose I also tried before buying these ones. My only criticisms are: - The folding mechanism is a bit like a puzzle because you have to follow an exact procedure to avoid stressing the band. - I generally do not like the leather-like earpads most high-quality headphones come with, as they are susceptible to wear and tear and become quite uncomfortable after prolonged use, especially in hot weather. So I bought a silicon cover, which solves both issues.
