Yes. As long as the speaker is connected to an AC outlet by a USB AC adaptor (commercially available) or to a computer that comes equipped with a USB charging port, the speaker's built-in battery is capable of charging itself even while music playback from the speaker is in progress.

The Sony XB100 does not have a user-programmable sleep timer that lets you set it to turn off after a chosen amount of time. However, it does have an Auto Standby feature that automatically powers the speaker off after about 15 minutes of inactivity to save battery life.
The speaker will automatically shut down if:
No buttons are pressed.
No music is playing from the connected device.
The connected Bluetooth device is idle.

Excellent sound for the compact size
I bought this small speaker specifically for travelling & have been really impressed with the sound quality and features for the size. It outperforms my much larger Bluetooth speaker from a different brand. It’s easy to set up & use as well so it has been a great purchase.

Battery life seems very good for the size and sound is amazing for such a little speaker. Connects to devices well and feels like a robust device with a convenient strap. Price was great and because it seems well built I don't think I will need a case.

Excellent speakers, great volume and clear sound.
Brought two XB100 speakers for home use. Use the larger XB23 for work, so knew the excellent quality. The XB100 are easy to connect to my android phone either using the phone's bluetooth or using the Sony Music Centre app. Volume is more than enough, tried just one speaker on full volume for about two minutes and my ears were ringing for a good five minutes afterwards. Sound is crisp and clear for both music and audio books. Quick to charge and once batteries are fully charged last for hours. Definitely a good buy.
