Q: Can I use in a Weber charcoal grill with the top on or a gas grill ?
submitted by OWH - 3 years ago
A: Either grill will work with this Taylor Thermometer. Be sure to not crimp the wire with the grill lid or expose the wire to flame. Enjoy the grilling!

Q: Do I have to leave themometer in meat or can I just use it to check meat temperature?
submitted by Mama E - 3 years ago
A: The leave-in meat thermometer is a leave-in thermometer and cannot be used as an instant read. It is meant to be left in the meat during the cooking process to track the gradual increase in temperatures. If you are looking for one to use to check meat quickly, we recommend a Taylor instant read thermometer. Please reach back out with additional questions. Thanks!

While this thermometer is easy to use, we have replaced it twice and each time it has broken. Invest in something more durable!

Don’t waste your money. First time we used it, it worked ok. Second time we tried it, it didn’t work at all. Piece of junk. You may as well throw your money in the trash.

Bought this to cook Thanksgiving dinner however, the handle did not move for maybe 2 hours until we ran it under water. Doing that somehow tripped the sensor. Needless to say, we ate a bit late.

I bought this after Thanksgiving and used it for my Christmas Prime Rib. At first I thought it was not working, then I saw it was and it cooked my Prime Rib perfectly! Then I went to wash the grease off. The glass is now fogged from the water I used and I can't see the numbers. I just looked up the instructions and it said to "spot or wipe". Who wants to spot or wipe yucky meat grease and blood? Not me! Dawn is the only thing that takes grease off.

Doesn’t go past 140 degrees and moves very slowly to get to that point. I made chicken thighs where juices were clear and meat was white, it was actually slightly overcooked on the outside, but according to this thermometer, it was “undercooked.” Was hoping to use this for a turkey but prob better spent on a digital thermometer 🙄

Absolutely useless. It's supposed to be "leave in" but you have to hold it in place the entire time, otherwise it falls over. Useless for burgers, hotdogs, and sausages. The temperature just stops rising after a certain point, usually around the 140 degrees mark.
Well made

Helpful. Easy to clean. I like that there are temperatures that indicate that the meat is done right on the face. Well made. It’s worth the money.

I've used this three times cooking chicken, only to find that it won't even go up past 140 unless it's left in extremely hot meat for a very long time, even then it's no guranteee. Overcooked everything thinking it was still raw.

Feel silly for not reading the reviews first. Not sure how this is even still for sale. Mine did not read higher than 140F.

This was not worth it. You stick it in your meat and it hardly moves. The reading really does not work. I'm going for the digital one next.
