I used to use the L'Oréal root touch up and I think that had more coverage than this tresemme version. however I think this tresemme one has less transfer on to my hands and clothes than the L'Oréal root touch up. it does the trick between salon visits.

I am thankful for the opportunity to try this root touch up as I've seen some other brands but was too skeptical to even consider a root touch up product. Let's be real here ladies, our roots grow much faster than the colour fades so we end up buying a WHOLE box if hair dye to literally touch up our roots. Not anymore with this, I used a different brand to dye my hair dark brown but I was pleased to see after using the dark brown root touch up it matched and you couldn't even tell I used a touch up product! I was excited to try this. However, the sprayer shoots out the stuff instead of spraying it. This results in very concentrated spots on scalp - not an even spray. Also, the color that comes out is darker than what's on the can. Not too happy about my experience with this color touch-up. Would be great if color inside was closer to the picture and if it was applied more evenly.

The color is ok but the spray applicator is HORRIBLE. It gets everywhere. I only wanted a bit to use at my hairline but that’s impossible to do with this spray. I ended up spraying it on a toothbrush and using it to apply it. Using it like that it works fine.

Five weeks later I haven’t colored by hair! I’m 80% gray in my mid 30’s and not about to embrace the granny look. I used to have natural medium ash brown so a dark brown (all that was in stock) actually looks pretty natural on my roots. The rest of my hair is caramel brown. The darker roots look natural. My new grays show up about 5 days after coloring because there is such a thing as hair that grows too fast...especially when you’re gray—you don’t want it growing. I used to dye my hair every 2 weeks w/semi permanent that washes out in 1-2 shampoos then again I had to dye to hide the unsightly grays. This root touch up is amazing! No one can tell! I had to practice a bit. Shake the can and spray lightly not full force. On the part only. After it dries a bit I brush it gently with a fine tooth comb. all on fully dry hair of course. People complaining about stickiness..I’ve tried many of these sprays and powders before, they’re all pretty much the same..sticky while wet..it’s kind of like a hairspray, expected. So don’t touch while wet and you’ll be fine. This product works great and will save me tons of money, time, and my scalp is happy not to be dyed every 2 weeks.

I really wanted to like this product as I had used other brands before with success, this one is really messy; my hands and fingers were coated with the stuff after spraying it on my part. Also, it left my hair feeling clumped together and dirty. I will not use this again and cannot recommend it.

Mixed feelings about this. I was hoping for it to be a means of getting through the pandemic but sorry to say it won't work. I used it early on when I only had minimal growth around the edges, and it was okay, not great, just okay. It covered the gray, but I found I needed to blend it in to make it look natural, but I could deal with that. But after a few weeks, when I tried it on my roots all over to cover growth, I found it to be sticky, came off on my hands, brush, comb, and flat iron, and the it made my hair stiff, uncombable and had to wash it out - - which incidentally was a two-edged sword because after 4 shampoos, all the color did not come out but the sticky residue did not either. I only put it on the roots, not the whole shaft, but the roots were unmanageable because it was so stiff. Looking for another option until I can get back to the hairdresser.

I agree with another poster...in that it does rub off, or come off if wet etc. HOWEVER, if you use it on a sunny day or day when you won't be getting rained on or sweaty, and spray a top coat of hair spray to seal it some, you should be fine and it does have a silky full coverage of roots and makes your hair look much better between colorings or washings! If it wouldn't come off so easily it would have received a five star rating from me. I will still buy it though...and yes recommend it.

I like that that this product does cover my grays and is fairly quick to use, however it does not dry quickly as indicated on the bottle. My hair felt full of residue all day and the color came off on my hands every time I ran my fingers through my hair. I even tried to dry with my hair dryer and it didn't help. For the price, I wish the color would stay in for more than one wash. I've used TRESemme products in the past and must say the Root Touch Up spray is just okay.

I use the root touch up to cover thinning spots. It covers well, comes out at the right pressure, and the color works well with my color. It was a game-changer for me. I use it daily. I only wish the cans were bigger and also sold in more stores. It is hard to find.
