Q: Am I the only one or is this unit super low Volume I have both camera and parent unit on high volume and I could barely hear anything I have to keep putting the parent unit in my ear to hear a bit better unless I got a bad batch

  • A: It's not just you. The volume level of the monitor is very low even at max. If you connect the camera with the app on your phone you can actually achieve a reasonable volume but why the monitor then?

Connection goes out all the time on both modes, very unreliable when you reply on this monitor to make sure your babies are ok while they nap/sleep. App connection is awful too - I have to reconnect almost weekly. Monitor went out less than a year and customer service has not responded and now avoiding our emails on getting a replacement.

Video quality is not great, frequently cutting out or appearing pixelated. But it did the trick… until just after the 1-year warranty ended and then one camera stopped working entirely. Vtech was no help whatsoever and there is no option to replace just one camera. A waste of money and would not recommend.

Do not buy! This baby monitor randomly disconnected from the wifi, and when trying to reconnect it, it says 'no wifi.' I called VTech, they said because it was purchased over 1 year ago (my daughter is newly one) that there was nothing they can do. I asked if they could troubleshoot with me, and they said "It sounds like you have done everything you can, something is malfunctioning in the product" To which, I responded "okay, but there is still nothing you can do to help?" They said "no." What a waist of money!

Stops working after 1 year. The size of the screen and ability to have 2 cameras on display was a motivator for us to repurchase this after our previous Vtech monitor went out, because we wanted to take a chance on the other negative reviews. Take this as your sign that the other reviews about the monitor are true and shop for a different brand. Vtech should not be able to continue selling this product.

Terrible picture quality. But it's on all their cameras now. My original is great but (like all their units) the parent unit needs to be plugged in to be used. Dies the second it's unplugged. This camera also glitches and turns on the nightlight for no reason and can't be turned off unless you reset the camera. You can't watch the monitor and the app at the same time, one or the other only. I'm just so over all of this. I'm just getting two more RING cameras and calling it a day

Nothing but issues ever since we purchased. Have 2 cameras, one each kids room. Lasted a year before the monitor broke. The cameras constantly disconnect and reconnecting them is extremely frustrating. Save yourself some frustration and look elsewhere. Currently looking to buy a different baby monitor at 8pm after the kids went to bed because this one failed us.

The quality of the video display is nice. However, after using this for less than 6 months, the parent monitor no longer charges and will not turn on. We can only use the app now, which is a huge bummer for us since we need the parent monitor to see both cameras.

After 1 year, connection has been spotty

I’ve been using it for 1 year. I’ve loved it and the quality is great, BUT all of a sudden it keeps disconnecting when I’m outside my house. I used to be able to do yard work while watching my baby sleep on the monitor and now I can’t. I’m very angry because that’s how I get my gardening done in the summer. I was really hoping this would last longer than a year

We have had two of these. The first one broke right away (when we turned on the screen wouldn’t go past the v tech screen). We were able to return that one. We thought it was a fluke and bought a second one. After 15 months of use that one has now done the same thing. Clearly an issue this unit has. We reset and removed the battery. Neither worked to fix it.

I do wish the night vision was better but it's been very useful. Does tend to run out of battery pretty quickly and the auto wake is not as receptive anymore (after 18 months of use)

This is the second Vtech monitor we bought. The first one stopped working and we gave it the benefit of the doubt of a faulty product, however we purchased the second product with 2 cameras and it has been nothing but issues as well. Constantly disconnecting, having blurry views with light rings through the camera, not being able to connect both cameras at once without one not being able to connect and constantly beeping throughout the night because it can’t keep the connection. We finally did all the troubleshooting steps and had to completely reset, and then our phones no longer connect through the app. After calling Vtech to troubleshoot, they pretty much told us nothing we can do and we are out of luck. We have had this product for a little over a year. Don’t waste your money or let yourself get stressed out when relying on a product to be able to see your baby. Not worth it.

The connectivity is awful. We have tried both ways and it constantly loses connection which worries me in the night. Not knowing if it’ll work so I can hear my baby. I was really liking how clear the video is and all the features but now use a very simple baby monitor with no video just to be sure I can hear my baby at night.

Works well. It's HUGE! Still uses barrel connector

This monitor works very well, produces high quality video and audio. The screen is very large, as described in the title. The screen still uses a barrel connector, which means it only works with the included power supply. That's an annoying choice when USB-C connectors are becoming the norm.

We have loved all of our vtech monitors. We have gone through 3 different models do your changing needs and they’ve all been great. We wanted to get one with split screen features and ability to access from the app so this one seemed perfect. We have had it for about two months now and it’s awful. The quality of the picture is awful and it is never able to connect meaning I am not able to see or hear my child. It’s a terrible product. Do not buy this model.
