Worked right out of the box. I I added the vapo steam camphor cough suppressant for use in hot steam vaporizer instead of the pads enclosed. This humidifier can soothe coughs and congestion with its warm steam, and it features a protective design and auto shut-off for safety. With the use of this, especially having a dry annoying painful cough, delivers effective moisture relief for small to medium rooms with gentle warm mist. I had it on my kitchen table while working for home - was good for my cough/congestion relief - good relief for flu season too.

MOLD after second day
Spewed water and had mold by the end of day two. On the second day we ran this in my son's room, he complained of a bad taste in his mouth. I thought it was because he was sick. But that night, we watched a movie together and I got the same bad taste. Checked the humidifier, and it was already moldy. Guess I'll try a cold air humidifier.

The Base part of it gets to Hot
Don’t like that it got extremely Hot. The base part of it is so Hot,so that’s concerning for me. My previous one I got at another place I would leave it on for hours and hours but,I don’t feel safe doing that to this one.

Highly Recommend
I personally have purchased three of these machines to use in different areas of my home and they are so easy to clean and they work so well. I tend to use them overnight mostly or if one of my kids is sick I run them all day. You can barely hear them. I have had humidifers that are much more expensive ($300+) and I would recommend these a million times over those. I have accidentally left these things running for extended periods of time and ran into zero issues.

just dont be dumb
this review is filled with people who either got paid for the review or don’t know how to use it. i promise it’s really not that hard just clean it out frequently and add a good pinch of salt and you’ll get plenty of steam, probably more than an expensive humidifier. take care of your stuff and it won’t break.

I think it's defective
I wish I could give it a good review. My husband's family has one of these and it works really well and steams up a good amount and distance away, the room definitely feels quite humid with theirs but they've had it for over 10 years. I just bought one and it barely produced steam. I have to be right next to the vents and even then there wasn't a lot of steam, I was highly disappointed because this one seems like a dud. Based on everyone's reviews they have really changed something in their manufacturing that makes this product no longer good like it used to be. I really hope they fix this problem.

Wish i bought a different one
I don’t like it because it spits water out of the top that causes the floor or table to get very wet. You’ll need to put a towel under it. Also, I saw black specks inside after using it. I’m not sure if it was the black plastic heater flaking off or the salt it recommended I put in the water. It’s also impossible to pour all the water out when finished using it. Due to the shape of the bowl. You have to reach inside with a towel to sop up the remaining water.

Disappointed
I was excited to get this because Vicks cures everything lol however, this unit doesn’t work at all! It never produced mist and I followed the directions exactly. I even watched a YouTube video to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I’m so disappointed!

Fire hazard!
We had not one but TWO of these overheat after a few months of use. The cord suddenly got so hot it was hard to even touch. This is a serious fire hazard and should not be left on at night in your or your kids room. How they’re still selling this I don’t know.
