A: Basically, you *slide* the white plastic tray onto the top of the compressor. Notice that there is a projecting white piece on the bottom of the tray and a similar projecting black piece on the top of the compressor. A: Me too! I just called 1-855-666-4477 and was told that plastic tray slips on top of the compressor and clicks in place. Guess it's to prevent and collect any water drips. Make sure the black foam faces the compressor.

A: In the q/a's of the Whirlpool Black WH31BKE it says shelves are adjustable, but stationary. They do not slide in/out.

A: I was wondering the same thing. After reading, I believe the main difference is that the black one has 2 slide-out glass shelves. The stainless steel one does not.
