Large puppy gates come in several height tiers: common freestanding panels and standard gates are typically about 24"–32" (many models listed as 24" or 30"), while extra-tall models are available for jumpers and large breeds — some reach about 67.5".

You’ll find three main placement types: freestanding panels, pressure-mounted gates, and hardware-mounted (in-ground or fixed) gates. Some models support both pressure-mounted and hardware-mounted installation to suit temporary or permanent setups.

Extra-tall gates pair taller panels (for example up to about 67.5") with tighter bar/tube spacing, additional vertical bars to reduce gaps, and lockable doors to make it harder for pets to jump over or squeeze through.

Many large gates include a full walk-through door with a safety lock for people plus a smaller lockable pet door or low pet opening so small animals can pass while larger pets remain contained.

Several freestanding gates are foldable or collapsible for easy moving and storage — some fold flat to compact dimensions, and others arrive fully assembled so you can place and use them without installation.

Common inclusions are extension panels or additional bars, stakes and connectors for playpens, anti-skid pads or mats, support feet and fixing straps for freestanding models, and a user manual.
