Sinex decongestant sprays are described as providing up to about 12 hours of relief from nasal congestion and sinus pressure.

Age recommendations vary by product. Depending on the formulation, Sinex labels show suggested ages of 2 years and up, 3 years and up, 6 years and up, or 12 years and up.

Label guidance for Sinex decongestant/severe sprays (adults and children 6 years and older) is typically 2–3 sprays per nostril as needed, no more often than every 10–12 hours, and not to exceed 2 doses in 24 hours. These decongestant sprays are not intended for continuous daily use.

Sinex sprays deliver the product as an ultra-fine mist (including a one-way flow ultra-fine mist on some versions) to target the nasal passages and deposit medicine or saline where it’s needed.

Sinex sprays are formulated to relieve nasal congestion, sinus congestion, sinus pressure, and a stuffy nose caused by colds or allergies.

Sinex decongestant labels advise consulting a doctor before use if you have conditions such as diabetes, thyroid disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, problems with urination, or if you are pregnant or nursing. Labels also warn to keep products out of reach of children.
