This is excellent for those of us who still love pie even thou every doctor is against us eating it! Very neutral in flavor, works as easy as (UGH!!!) soy shortening; doesn't add the water and flavor of butter, and bakes up beautifully! Thank you for carrying such a great healthy alternative!

Best ingredient for moist baked goods!

Used this to make a delicious vanilla cake recipe and let’s just say, best moist cake I’ve ever baked. Will definitely use this in my cake recipes from now on!

I’m pleased

I was so pleased with this product I ordered a second to have on hand when I finished the first. I’d avoided other products of this type until I came across this organic, non-hydrogenated offering. It doesn’t taste like butter, but then it’s not butter. In fact as far as my family or I could tell, it has a neutral, completely unobtrusive taste which is what I’d hoped for. I’ve used it in biscuits, shortbread, cornbread, and several varieties of fruit based quick breads, all of which turned out well and soon devoured.

I used this product to make my award winning Italian cookies and I could not have been happier. The flavor, texture and appearance was almost 100 percent. I also made them in a new kitchen with electric oven so that was a new factor also. I am so pleased to eat all organic and non hydrogenated treats this year. It is possible now - thank you to Spectrum !

Okay substitute for lard

Used this product as a substitute for lard. It’s probably a lot healthier but biscuits and pie crusts are not as flavorful and light.

Expiration Dates

Swanson is not careful about sending out products with short expiration dates. Most people do not use shortening up 10 months. Most stores have a longer expiration date.
