The Retroid Pocket 6 is unique because it is actually available in both configurations. Following a community design survey in late 2024, Retroid decided to manufacture the device in two distinct physical shells. When you purchase or pre-order the device, you must choose between: D-Pad Top (Model A): The directional pad is in the primary top position, with the left analog stick below it. This is generally preferred by "Retro Purists" for SNES, GBA, and fighting games. Stick Top (Model B): The left analog stick is in the top position, similar to an Xbox or Nintendo Switch controller. This is often preferred for modern Android gaming, 3D titles (GameCube/PS2), and cloud streaming.
