This is my second one it's the perfect size fit into my windows for my apartment very reliable cools off my entire large living room setup is easy I put it in the window made sure that all the side flaps were sealed Make sure the window was down to hold it insecure then I set up my app on my phone for the Wi-Fi features which went very easy also definitely recommend this air conditioner My living room is like 25 by 12:00 and equals this room and more. I have a 900 square foot apartment I have one in my living room and one in the bedroom which keeps everything cooled off all summer long

Go with another brand. I’ve only had it for a year and the thing is leaking so bad it’s ruined my hardwood floors. Worked fine for a year no problems then out of nowhere it’s dumping gallons of water on my floor. Called and asked for help and just had some lady with an attitude blow me off. Won’t ever buy their product again.

The app is easy and it was quick to setup and use. I’ve had no issues with having to restart or anything. It cools well and It seems like it is going to work well for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picked this up as a backup to our central air and I was very impressed at how easy it was to set up and get configured. It’s easy enough to lift as a single person (but two people would be easier). I have the Midea Smart Home app and it immediately picked up the AC unit. Within a few clicks it was on my network and ready for control though my phone, or I could easily set up a schedule for operation.

I also love that it’s not too loud, it’s blowing out pretty cold air and very strong so I’m happy with the noise level it’s at. I haven’t tried the smart part of it yet as I just put it in but I’m sure that will be amazing. I love this air conditioner and I’m actually going to buy myself another one for my bedroom. I’m very happy with this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Performance and capacity: I installed this 8000 BTU unit in a 110 square foot nursery. During a specific test with the door closed the app showed an 11° temperature drop in just 15 minutes. Under normal circumstance, we keep the door open, and the unit has enough power to cool the room while also helping to take the edge off the heat in the hallway. The app and controls: The app is really useful. We used it to monitor the initial temperature drop and we use it to set sleep schedules. Being able to preset the temperature for specific times at night is convenient for a nursery, and the energy usage tracking gives a clear look at what the unit is costing to run. Installation and old windows: If you're installing this in older wooden windows, the brackets and lock frames can be a bit confusing. The mounting points at the top edge of the unit where it hits the sash were key to getting it lined up. My windows are extremely old, which resulted in a significant Gap under the unit. The AC does include some foam to help seal gaps, but I suggest having extra adhesive foam on hand to ensure you get a completely airtight seal if your frames are uneven like mine. I would recommend this unit as I found it capable of cooling fast and the smart features add a level of control that makes managing a nursery temperature much easier it's a reliable choice if you need consistent cooling and want to track your efficiency

It’s extremely quiet and super lightweight. It’s easy to clean and the vent moves easily to dust it. The app is easy to use to control it away from home! We love it!!!

I love how you can just control it from an app which makes it so much easier and nicer. I am thinking about replacing the two in my kids room so this brand once I am able to.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Midea SmartCool Window A/C was simple to build, easy to install, and the WiFi/voice controls are incredibly convenient to use. The unit quickly cooled down my 195sqft bedroom and kept it comfortable throughout the entire night, creating a tolerable sleeping environment on an otherwise hot evening. Unfortunately, the unit is very noisy when the fan kicks into high. This isn’t a deal breaker for my home, as my spouse and I are heavy sleepers, however it is certainly loud enough to wake someone that sleeps lightly.

Assembly and installation were very easy and took less than 30 minutes. I love the remote and WiFi features. This is definitely the most advanced AC I’ve ever had. My bedroom has stayed nice and cool thanks to the various settings, including an eco mode. I can’t wait to use this AC all summer!

It makes it so much easier than having to get up and readjust the settings. On top of all its great features, I love it because it can significantly cool a large room!

Bought 2 months ago. It does get cold really cold the only complaint I have is this thing drips a ton of water out of the lower front part of the unit and builds mold alot of mold it ruined my several thousand dollar mattress

Bought this a month ago to replace a very old and loud unit. This model is smaller in size and much quieter, while cooling better than the older, higher BTU unit it replaced. Love it so far!! Would reccomend this unit.

Midea website falsely advertises SmartHome feature that is NOT supported on this model. I confirmed this by chatting with Midea support. I wasted time and money buying two of these and installing them before realizing this. I wanted SmartHome control. Here's what was falsely listed prominently on the Midea product page for model MAW05R1JWT-B: "Connect this window AC unit to the SmartHome app to control it from your Android or iOS device." Also: "SmartHome app, Voice Assistant or Apple Watch control"

I purchased the 12,000 BTU version of this product to replace an electronically malfunctioning U-Shaped unit prior to the mold recall on that particular model. When I went to inspect my remaining U-Shape unit for mold (which it was covered in) I thought I should check this model as well. It turns out this model has black mold on the fan wheel as well as the styrofoam insulation. Currently trying to get through to the company for a return as this is now another one of their models with a mold issue and it causing health problems for my family.

Day one, very easy to install, began to work immediately, cooled off the master bedroom and hallway without incident. Remote is a great feature for a bedroom unit, cooled room down quickly and was able to modify temperature without a problem. Temp outside: 90 in bedroom 71F

Unit worked great for the first 6 months. After that, a very loud rattle developed whenever the compressor runs. I wish I could upload a video for you all to hear. It still cools our bedroom just fine, but having the machine run while sleeping is impossible due to the noise.

Pros: It gets cold, and the high speed fan is pretty strong as I can feel it across the less than 150 sf room this is installed in. Cons: Site says it has wifi. Confirmed I had the same model number. There is no wifi so I can't control it away from home as I would have liked. Does not fit my double hung window. I had to install it with the feet inside, unlike how is recommended, because otherwise it would tilt in, instead of tilting out. This caused the slides to be too short to cover the window opening. I had to use a 3/4 inch piece of wood to make up the difference. Thermostat isn't accurate. I had it set at 72. It shut off at 75. I had it set to 70. It shut off at 75. This was with room darkening shades down and door shut on an 80 degree day. This was supposed to be an upgrade to the 8 year old model it was replacing, which luckily I still have in case this can't handle the warmer days yet to come.
