Flavor packets must be smaller. I've tried two different boxes and both of them were bland. Spanish rice used to be my favorite, but not anymore. They are really cheaping out on the ingredients.

Favorite since childhood!!
I was raised by a single mom, so we had just about every flavor of Rice-A-Roni even back in the 80s. It has always been an affordable meal that’s easy to stretch and still delicious! This flavor of Spanish rice has been my absolute favorite for over 30 years! It tastes exactly the same as it did when I was a kid! My own recipe now is to add the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies as suggested and also add about half a bag of fresh or frozen (cooked) sweet yellow corn! Then I get some scoops tortilla chips and use them scoop a little salsa and then the rice! It’s a great meal for yourself or great to prepare if you have friends coming over! Now, if you guys would just bring back the Red Beans and Rice flavor, i’d be in heaven!

I cook using the directions on the package . But I do use Ro⭐️Tel canned Diced Tomatoes with lime and cilantro! Adds a little extra zip to the flavour profile. Also add a dash of canned chives, parsley and gourmet ground black pepper. When browning the rice and vermicelli, I also add a couple drops of high quality olive oil along with the butter. This adds moisture and keeps the rice from sticking. The result is a Spanish Rice that is BETTER than any restaurant offering ! This is an easy and inexpensive side dish or add some precooked frozen diced chicken chunks or even frozen precooked frozen meatballs ( available at most supermarkets ) . Now you have a fantastic main course!! Can highly recommend this product!! Easy to cook and reasonably priced !! Try it , you will be amazed !!

Not what i expected
I bought this last week and made it yesterday to save time on our dinner. It was awful the texture and taste was not like a traditional Spanish rice unless it was supposed to be like a paella rice. We did not like this at all, we will stick to the Rice Pilaf which we always enoy

Yuck. Made exactly according to directions and there were still a ton of crunchy pieces of rice mixed in with the cooked pieces. Plus adding a whole 14oz can of diced tomatoes made it like I was eating all tomatoes. Gross.

I love to make
I love to make my Spanish rice. But sometimes I just want to get the dinner done quickly. So that’s when I turn to this Rice A Roni Spanish rice. It’s easy. I just add some water and that’s it. It gets done quickly. I just really like that it’s very time consuming and it does taste good too. Not exactly as good as making the Spanish rice with your own ingredients, but it’s still good.

Wouldnt recommend
I followed all the directions on the box and the rice still managed to come out watery. Not happy with it. Rather use El Paso Spanish Rice.
