    avoid the pump!

This product works, but is expensive, and avoid the pump, it is a bad feature and does not work wasting product, use the squeeze tube with a screw-on cap its is much more functional and easier to use with no-waste

    Pump is wasteful

The product is wonderful. The pump is awful. It makes you use too much & in turn- runs out before your cold sore is gone. Then you have to buy more. I loved the tube. I chose how much to use- pump is wasteful.

    Does not work.

I am still getting over a bout of cold sores all over lips and above lips. I quickly tried Abreva as it had stated that their product really works. Well.....It is a week later and I still have these cold cores all over on and around my lips. I followed the instructions to a tee. Do not be fooled by the ads for this product. Now I am seeing a registered dermatologist for help with this problem.

    Terrible Product

I never had a cold sore in my life & I got recommended this product. This product cause my cold sore to become inflamed, very irritated (turned red) and it burned a few seconds after applying it. My cold sore didn’t go away using Abreva. I highly recommend purchasing CVS brand cold sore cream (CVS Cold Sore & Fever Blister Relief Cream, 0.7 OZ). Apply that & Neosporin at least x5 a day to reduce the cold sore and to help heal it as it scabs. My cold sore went down the 1st week but didn’t fully heal until the 2nd week. Don’t waste your money on abreva.

So small & too expensive Rip Off

I’m not sure if it works or not but my 1-star rating is for the small size for $24. It’s smaller than my chapstick. It’s such a rip-off. This company is taking advantage of peoples desperation. I will not buy it again. I’d rather try natural remedies.

    Awful pump design

I've used abreva for years, until last year or earlier it came out in a pump packaging. No offence, but the design sucks. The cream is helpful still. As I know many have complained the same, but I still have to say, the pump design is just not working. I am not buying this product unless it goes back to the original squeeze packaging. The pump is horrible, so much comes out on every pump, it's just wasteful. Also, sometimes it splashes so far, making it impossible to use. I feel that abreva is going to have fewer income and customers just because of the packaging.

    Pump Style Abreva Defective

Do not buy this product in a pump! I have used the cream before, in the tube, and would have this time, too, but my usual stores were only carrying the pump. The cream works well for cold sores, and although it is very expensive, the cream in the tube lasts a very long time because you don't need to use much. I was leary of buying a pump, because pumps often stop working prematurely. While the Abreva pump was working, it dispensed more than needed, then after only a few uses, it stopped pumping altogether! This is very frustrating, especially given how expensive the product is. Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the pump version of this product!

This cream is amazing. I’ve always used blistex in the past but it only helps moisturize the sore. With this cream, I could feel the difference immediately after applying and it healed within a few days.
