compact enough, tilts up and down. does not oscillate, but the dial allows you to choose many speeds from low to high. speeds on first half of the dial are pretty quiet but the high speeds are loud.

Unrivaled excellence
This is the 12th Vornado fan I have purchased and it’s my favorite of all because of the dial enabling one to have any level of breeze. Most of these fans are in a second home near the ocean, without a/c. There is a fan in every single room including the bathrooms. Vornado makes a terrific range of fans for any location. I bought a similar fan when I needed one right away and couldn’t get a Vornado, and was truly surprised at the difference - Vornado circulates air like no others do. I have three at home, in air-conditioning, which allow me to keep the thermostat higher because the fans make such a difference. We even run one in winter as white noise.

Quiet & efficient
This fan is, as advertised, shockingly energy efficient. 2 watts when I have it dialed into a comfortable speed, but it can pull up to 13W at full tilt (and whooo that's a lot of airflow). For comparison, a smaller Vornado Flippi (which I DO NOT recommend) pulls 5W at a comfortable level, and 16W at the highest speed. I wish it was available in more colors and styles, because a DC motor is absolutely 100% the way to go for desk fans.

One setting: full blast.
Received this unit as a replacement for a broken fan, broken in the sense that it would click and fluctuate speed with each revolution if the fan blades, this unit however, has another problem. Turn it on and you can not adjust the speed, and for such a small fan, full throttle is actually very loud, especially if you want to use it for white noise to fall asleep to. Bad product, stop manufacturing this model.

Quiet. Adjustable speed
I have owned this fan for about 8 months, I keep it on my nightstand and use it at night. It's fairly quiet and you can adjust the speed to exactly what you want -I wish more Vornado fans had this feature!. This isn't the best looking Vornado fan by far but because of the variable speed it's my favorite. I wish this came in other colors.. Black would be nice. The white stands out too much against my bedroom walls/furniture and it's kind of the 1st thing your eye go to when you walk into the room. Not a deal breaker but they would probably sell more of these if it came in other colors.

Little Engine That Did
I love this fan. I was playing around with a boondock/camping setup to work off of a goal zero yeti setup and looked at this fan for the power consumption and volume output. Honestly when it arrived, it was defective. It would click on low speeds and the shut off sporadically but it might have been built on a Monday. I could only get it to work again by...tapping on the chassis and then it would run for a while then shut off again. I know this was a random thing and went through the claims process which was very painless. When it was working, it was awesome. It made an 8 person tent very comfortable and don't let the size surprise you. For the solar, power bank, camping people; it consumed 7-11 watts as advertised.

Defective motors?
I received two, the second is worse than the first. For a product that is supposed to be quiet having a defect, or lack of lubrication, or what ever the problem is causing an insane rattling/grinding sound in the motor really defeats the purpose. I want to try the next size up to see if it's clear of this issue but I'm also not enthusiastic about the prospect of getting another defect. These are twice as expensive as the regular models, where is the QC? If it wasn't faulty it would be an amazing product.

Ideal desktop fan: good quality construction
The 133DC fan provides good airflow for its size: about all that is needed from a desktop fan. The smooth variable speed control is a nice feature. The sound/noise is within expectations for the amount of air it produces: the tone is a little different than typical fans, but it's pleasant enough to be around. I purchased this model mainly for the relatively low power consumption and overall anticipated longevity.

This fan is very loud. Made it difficult to sleep. Parts were very cheap for the price I paid.
