I actually hadn’t purchased a new one yet after having my 4th baby so this came at a great time. You can’t go wrong with the Medela. Easy to use and transport milk, easy to take apart and clean and easy to bring with you any where! It’s 5 stars for me!

I love the design — it’s very comfortable and super gentle on the breast. Personally, I didn’t feel any pain or irritation at all while using it. Maintenance is easy since it’s very practical and simple to wash. One thing to note: it doesn’t extract as much milk as some pumps that can be painful, but that’s actually what I liked about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this manual breast pump after being discharged from the hospital with my baby. It was my first time using one of these, and I was slightly confused. It didn't work as wonderfully as I was hoping it would. I was having issues with the handle popping off. I love the mobility of it and versatility, but I personally prefer the hands-free aspect of an electric pump. Many moms swear by this product, so I do think it's great to give it a try yourself! It would be perfect for needing something in a pinch or traveling. It makes no noise, there arent too many components to worry about, and very little maintenance. It does have it's perks.

Quality and Affordable
I bought this for expressing colostrum and I’m pretty happy with the results. It’s pretty easy to use and great quality compared to the price. The only thing I didn’t love was that there are so many small pieces.

I was hoping that I would be able to produce more oz faster with this one, but I still find that my body responds better to my electric pump. The backflow design is interesting - I could see it being easy to lose the little backflow preventing silicone piece down the drain, or someone else confusing it with trash, but on the other hand it is much easier to clean than the standard duckbill valves.

Great if you need a strong suction
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump is an easy to put together, manual breast pump for breast-feeding individuals. Medela has always been a valuable brand at a low cost. This pump is safe to use and very hygienic, easy to clean. I did not get much of a yield of breastmilk due to the intensity upon pumping. It actually hurt me a little bit. I am very sensitive, and attempted to pump a little bit more lightly, but the pain persisted. So, if you are a breast-feeding, mom, just be aware that this might be a little bit too intense. I attempted to do any and everything to make it feel more light, but unfortunately, I was unable to. I’m still very glad to have this on hand, but I don’t see myself using it on a regular basis due to the discomfort.

Even if you already have an electric breast pump, a manual one can be very handy in many situations. I like the Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump because it’s easy to use, simple to clean, doesn’t have too many parts, and is fast to put together. The handle on the manual pump is very comfortable and easy to push, so my hand doesn’t get tired while pumping. It’s also lightweight, which makes it even easier to use. This pump also doesn’t make a lot of noise during use. The pump comes with a medium-sized oval flange (24 mm), which works well for me, but you can also buy other sizes (21 mm, 27 mm, or 30 mm) to get the perfect fit. I always make sure all parts are dry before I start, and the suction is strong but still gentle and comfortable. It doesn’t hurt or cause discomfort while pumping. It mimics a baby’s rhythm—quick at the beginning and then slower—which is perfect for breastfeeding moms. The pump can also be used in the stimulation phase, it has a fast pumping rhythm to stimulate the milk ejection reflex and start milk flowing. The packaging also includes four 7 oz breast milk storage bags, which is a nice opportunity to try them. All the parts are high quality, and the plastic parts feel sturdy. It’s dishwasher safe and easy to assemble. I also like the design—it’s very nice, and the soft yellow color is pretty. I use this pump more than I expected. Not only at home, but I also carry it in my diaper bag when I’m out for the day. I’ve even used it in the car while my husband is driving. I’m sure it will work really well for traveling too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They weren’t lying when they said this is the most common pump in hospitals - I was offered it in the hospital but accidentally left it there in our flurry to go home, and I regretted it so much! It was so gentle on my then super sensitive nips, and somehow seemed to even stimulate letdowns. It’s also easy to put together and even came with filters and storage bags, which were a nice touch. Not super keen that it’s plastic (albeit BPA-free) but it’s better than the silicone in other pumps squishing free (due to malleability) and spilling milk all over the floor mid-pump. I especially love the base that lets it rest securely on my knee and makes measurement on flat surfaces a breeze. My only qualm is that it doesn’t pump as quickly as some others, but the tradeoff is that I can barely feel it, it’s the most gentle pump I ever used. Slow and steady wins the race, and this pump shows it. If you have sensitive nips and supply issues, this one’s a no-brainer!

At first when I started to use it, it was quite painful. As I continued to use it, it became more comfortable. I was actually thoroughly impressed with how much milk this was able to express. I like that this one is also very quiet as opposed to the plug-in pump I have. I’m very grateful to have this one, especially now because we’re in the midst of a snowstorm and could possibly lose power. Unfortunately, it does take two hands to use because one hand needs to keep it secured while the other pumps, but that’s the only downside in my opinion.

Some manual pumps will wear your hand out while operating, but Medela Harmony is almost effortless. I like the convenience of the 5 oz bottle stand, and the installation is very simple (how - to pictures included). The expression is easy flowing compliments of 24 mm PersonalFit Flex breast shield. The best part is that it's dishwasher safe, and it mimics my baby's rthym. I most definitely recommend Harmony Manual breast pump by Medela!

The pros are the two diff types if suction- seen on the handle itself in the image. that is a nice feature to help stimulate and also to actually pump. the cons are where i started to take away stars. it does not always allow for the best output. i also hate that it only came with one flange size- 24mm. it’s HUGE for me and i dont want to have to purchase other parts for a brand new product. i would’ve liked it a lot more if the bottle itself was not plastic! overall its a good thing to have on hand
