I never feel compelled to write a review, but this product is so frustrating! the cap never stays on, the batteries fall out, and it isn't clear when you have turned it all the way on or if it will pulse. I had a super cheap one before this, for like 4 years, and it never had any issue - I just thought I should upgrade. major regrets.

Not powerful enough
I purchased this to make a mascarpone cold foam, but the frother struggled with the thicker consistency and couldn’t properly blend it. Definitely need something more powerful and this wasn’t it.

Don’t bother
I wish I had heeded the reviews before buying, but I wanted a frothy drink ASAP. It’s extremely hard to decipher which way to put the batteries in. Which wouldn’t be that big of a deal…except that you’re putting the batteries back into it multiple times a day. And once they fall out, who knows which way they were in there. As other reviews state, the battery compartment does not stay closed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve put it back on in just 3 weeks of owning this gadget. Save your money and buy a different frother with better reviews.

Do. Not. Waste. Your. Money.
I should have believed the prior one-star reviews. The battery compartment doesn't stay closed. The button, which is inconveniently located, is impossible to press by finger - and I'm a farmer and rock climber, I have strong fingers. When the button does work (by holding the unit with both hands and jamming the button with the handle of a spoon), the shaft wobbles wildly and the speed is slow. I guess I don't know what I expected from a $15 "stainless" frother with middling reviews, but this is complete garbage. It's in the trash 15 minutes after I got home, and I ordered one with solid reviews online from another store.

To operate, note that the SCHIUMA has a power switch, which should be gently pressed to the side - away from the curved edge of the device’s base - as opposed to directly down. The frother’s speed is optimized for about 2-4oz of milk or milk alternative; once the whisk is inserted into your frothing vessel, operating the frother for 20-30 seconds while moving it gently up and down will yield the best results. Opened the box. The frother looked dirty and used. The end of it was rusty. The inside where you put the batteries was rusted and the lid was rusty? Heading to return. How does this happen?

Beautiful dysfunction
Pros: it's fast and looks aesthetically pleasing Cons: The battery cap *cannot* stay on for the life of this thing. Whoever designed it must've never actually used it for more than a board room demo. There has not been a time I've used it that the cap did not pop off. There's just not a good enough latching mechanism on it. It seems like someone was trying to get ambitious having a battery cap that doubles as a tactile on switch (which, for the record is weird and unintuitive, though perhaps more accessible for those with limited mobility? If the cap stayed on? It also is really hard to hold and use at the same time?) All in all a very promising-looking product that was designed by someone with troublingly absent design sense. Such a beautiful object doesn't deserve such glaring flaws preventing it from ever being an excellent product. 2/5 since it looks beautiful, would not buy again.
