Q: The crock pot advertises a 2 qt. Capacity. Why does it hold only 6 cups?

submitted by Marge - 3 years ago
  • A: I'm guessing that since this "pot" holds liquids, it wouldn't be good to fill it to the brim (2 quarts) and have it get hot and boil over. You don't drink coffee from a full to brim cup ...

Q: do i have to cook for hours or can i cook in 30mins or so in this

submitted by Alka - 2 years ago
  • A: Well, it is called a slow cooker. The good things are low wattage and at a lower temperature it is unlikely to overcook ingredients. I use one with power inverter in a car daily, can't do with other c

submitted byOko - 1 year ago
  • A: It will take at least 10-15 minutes to get up to the desired temperature setting because it has to heat up the ceramic vessel. Then the cooking will begin at that point…it will take at least an hour to cook something from room temperature…these are meant for longer cooks or keeping things warm and ready to eat over a period of time…if you need shorter time, you might want to use a microwave.

Q: Does the ceramic insert contain lead which might leach into food over time?

submitted by JEYMS351 - 3 years ago
  • A: How about a simple answer...does the ceramic contain lead or not? The FDA allows amounts of lead is not reassuring your product is safe.

submitted byconnie - 3 years ago
  • A: Yes, it does contain traces of lead. As do most ceramic and enamel coatings.

submitted byMimi - 8 months ago
  • A: Hello! We regularly employ rigorous third-party testing to ensure that our Slow Cookers meet or exceed all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards, including those related to lead content. Consumers should feel confident that our Slow Cookers are safe to use. The glaze of our ceramic pots is a silicate made of quartz, feldspar and clay. The glaze is covered over the pot, fired at high temperature to melt the glaze and then cooled down. The glaze liquid is then turned into coating the same as glass film on the surface of the pot. This does not contain PTFE & PFOA. The FDA specifies allowable amounts of lead, cadmium and other substances. All the glazes that we use meet or exceed FDA requirements. If you have any more questions, please reach out to us via https://www.crock-pot.com/support/contact-us or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Q: What is longest time cooker can stay in "on" mode (with food inside, such as oatmeal with small amount of liquid)? Can I set it on "low" at midnight and turn it off at 8 a.m., using "low" or "med"?

submitted by Need flat daybed cover - 4 months ago
  • A: Hello, Thank you for asking about the Crock-Pot 2qt Manual Slow Cooker. Using “low” from midnight to 8 a.m. should work, but with small portions like oatmeal, it’s best to check the first time to ensure the texture turns out right. If you have any more questions or feedback, please reach out to us via our "Contact Us" form on our official website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time. Q: Does this crockpot have a red light tonight? It’s on and an off light when it’s done cooking it.

submitted by Mercedes - 6 months ago

The Crock-Pot 2qt Manual Slow Cooker does not include a red indicator light or an automatic “done” light. Great but needs lights on the dial

can't wait to continue using it, it's the perfect size for cooking overnight beans and chickpeas, and small soups etc. My 3 stars is because there is NO light on the dial or options, so you have no idea if it's on or not. It needs to have a light on for those passing by the kitchen and so you don't forget etc. They need to change this. Hopefully this will get passed along!

This slow cooker only cooks at one temperature. High. Its low heat cooking is useless.
1 reply from CrockPot Support Team team - 4 months ago
Hi there, Thank you for reaching out, and I’m sorry to hear about your experience with your Crock-Pot 2qt Manual Slow Cooker - Stainless Steel. We understand how frustrating it is when the Low setting doesn’t perform as expected. Here are a few troubleshooting tips that may help: - Allow time to heat up: The Low setting heats more gradually and may take longer to show visible simmering. - Check contents level: For best performance, keep the cooker between half and three-quarters full. - Ensure proper lid fit: A misaligned lid can trap excess heat or affect temperature consistency. - Test with water: Try filling the unit halfway with water and running it on Low—there should be gentle heating, not rapid boiling. If the issue persists and the unit continues to cook only at a high temperature, we kindly ask you to fill out a warranty claim through our official website. Our team will be happy to review your case and assist you further. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am – 5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Crock-Pot Consumer Care

Not too small, not too big

It's the mini-me of the full-size model. Perfect when slow cooking meat for 2 or 3 people. My only reason for 4 out 5 stars is I wish the setting knob would have a white line or contrast indicator so you can easily see what setting it is on.

    Perfect size

I needed a small crock pot for an appetizer I was bringing to a Super Bowl party. I looked at the 1-quart mini crock pots but I was afraid it was going to be too small. This 2-quart worked perfectly! I can't wait to try it out for a small meal dish as well. The inner crock is removable and went right in the dishwasher with the lid for easy clean up!!

    Crock-Pot 2qt Manual Slow Cooket

The Crock-Pot 2qt Manual Slow Cooker is awesome - as a mainly vegetarian 77 year old widow cooking for one is a mission but this pot is wonderful - I just pop the stuff in and set it to high or low depending when I want it - I bought a timer switch as well so that it switches off when I think it should be done just in case I'm out longer than I thought - the ceramic pot also has passed the FDA requirements which was what I wanted as well
