Q: Do you chew it or just swallow it? Why is it scented if you are just swallowing it ?

A: Our Essential for Women 18+ multivitamin is meant to be swallowed whole. As for the scent: we include a light essence (like mint or citrus) in the bottle to create a more pleasant experience when taking your daily vitamins. Since some supplements can naturally have a strong or oceanic smell, the essence helps make opening the bottle and swallowing the capsules a little more enjoyable (especially for those with sensitivity to smell).

Q: So many of the reviews say the consumers had "fish burps" after trying these multivites... however the product claims it is vegan, which would mean no fish. So... which is it? Are the fish burpers fibbing, or does this company consider fish a vegetable?

A: Thanks for reaching out! Our Essential Multivitamins are 100% vegan, and that includes our omega-3 DHA, which comes from algal oil, not fish. That said, since omega-3s (whether from fish or algae) have a naturally marine-like scent and taste, some customers may experience a “burpy” aftertaste similar to fish oil, even though there’s no fish in the formula. This varies by individual, and many find taking the multivitamin with food or before bed helps reduce any aftertaste. We hope this clears up the confusion!

Helps My Hair and Bloodwork
As the friend who doesn't want to see you do something unhelpful to your body: be a good girl and get your blood test first before blindly choosing a supplement. That's what I did and found while researching that the Essential supplement addressed 75% of my near deficiencies. So of course this was a no brainer! At the time I got my bloodwork I was also beginning to lose lots of hair and no idea why so suddenly. Since then, I've noticed taking the pills regularly helps to slow it down dramatically. I shed much less hair now (woo hoo!) though my some of my hair strands are still mysteriously thin, and I may need another vitamin/mineral, which is a work in progress. Also, these pills and/or my improved diet are helping me not be anemic. Definitely get this to help your body work as it should be and stay healthy!

Fish Burps
I do like what this brand is doing with the ingredient transparency, and combining omegas into a multi is a great concept. The price is comprable to other high quality multis, but it is a simpler formula. My big gripe is the "mint essence" doesn't really do anything about the fact that this does give fish burps through out the day.

Hi Sara! The vegan algal oil can sometimes give off that briny smell! That said, each bottle is supposed to come with an essential oil infused tab to help keep your vitamins smelling and tasting fresh. If you're tasting the vegan algal oil, we suggest taking them at bedtime or on an empty stomach with a glass of juice.

I was actually really excited about this supplement, but I looked up the balance of the vitamins and I’m not sure it’s all that great. The vitamin D is 3x the RDA, below the toxicity level, but still, with it being a fat soluble vitamin, it’s a little too much. The vitamin E is 2x the RDA, also fat soluble. The B12 is about 3x the RDA, but at least is water soluble. The RDA for magnesium is about 10x what is in this formulation, so it’s pretty low. I’m not a nutritionist by any means, but this is just what I’ve gathered from what I’ve looked up. Just seems like there might be better options out there.

I have been taking these multivitamins for 3 years now and love them so much. I am extremely sensitive to Biotin and will experience horrible breakouts if I take a multivitamin with Biotin in it. While Biotin is commonly found in most multivitamins for women, thankfully these vitamins do not contain it and that has made me a lifetime buyer!

No fishy burps!
It’s a bit too early for me to tell to see if it’s doing anything, but I do like that there is no fishy aftertaste (if taken properly). I’ve been taking this for about a week. You have to take it with Orange juice and on an empty stomach. Doing this consistently I have not experienced any fishy burps like other people have reported. The minty tab is actually quite nice. The only thing I don’t like is the price, but I like being able to trace where the ingredients are coming from, so I know exactly what I’m ingesting.

This is my favourite supplement I have used. I feel better when I take it. It’s only been a month though. It doesn’t give me a headache, it’s easy to digest, no odd flavour. I like the look of it is unique too.
