Annoying fan. It cools but motor electrical hum kills it.
As the title states, it's an annoying fan. It cools but motor electrical hum kills it. Trying to run it at night while you sleep? Forget it. The electrical hum will keep you awake. Sitting in the kitchen to enjoy a meal? The electrical hum will drive you crazy. Keep in mind, they probably could remove the electrical hum. The hum only happens on setting 1, 3 and 5. If you have the fan set to 2 or 4, it's fine. I'm not an electrical engineer but I would guess better design of the electronics would fix the issue. I have another similar fans, not made my Holmes, that does not have this electrical hum issue. This one is going back to the store.

Wobbly Stand and No Remote!
The fan stand does not secure to the base and is wobbly, poorly made. Also came with no Remote Control, which means someone already returned it and forgot to add that in the box! Now I have to order a new fan and hope the remote is in there, and then return the other one! What a hassle for a simple fan.

Missing piece & broke
Was missing the bottom stand piece, the one provided was for a larger model size rather than this fan. Broke 1 month after using as my bedroom night time fan. Started making a weird noise and completely stopped.

Not happy, loud
Like -the size and that it mhas a remote. Dislike -The motor is loud, trying to use in bedroom but can’t. Also the remote doesn’t always work, I have to push the button several times before it catches. Was hoping to replace the bulky stand fans, but with the loud motor I won’t be able. Can’t afford another. Not happy.

Nice airflow and I like that it has a remote but about a month of using it started making this annoying rattling sound regardless of the speed or setting. Disappointed :( looking for a new one already.

Great airflow and easy to assemble
Great airflow. I have a small bedroom but even on the lowest setting I can feel the breeze of the fan. I particularly picked this fan for it's 5 speeds and a remote and was not disappointed. It has so much power in its higher and even power breeze settings, but I usually leave it on speed 2. Although my only complaints are that speed 1 makes a sort of weird rattling sound, and I couldn't tell the difference with sleep mode on or off.

It doesn't get too loud so it is great to fall asleep to. I keep this fan in the corner of my room and can still feel a strong breeze from my bed in the other corner. It was super easy to put together too, just a few pieces to stack

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the 42" digital fan a few weeks ago. So far I like it. On the lower speeds the fan is mostly quiet, you can barely hear it. I like the different fan modes and speeds. The timer is also a nice feature in case you don't want it running all day and forget to turn it off. Assembly was effortless. I did break one of the prongs when I took it out of the box because I didn't realize the base wasn't attached and it fell over. Overall I like this fan so far.

I love that it has 5 settings of fan speed. It comes with a remote, but unfortunately no batteries came with for the remote, which is the only reason I took off 1 star. I like this fan much more than the big pedestal ones I had before. It’s super slim and can’t fit in much more convenient places.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Holmes - 42” Digital Tower Fan with ClearRead Display has been a great replacement of our old tower fan. Since it is so tall, I do find it to be a little tippy on carpet. My dog hit it and it wobbled a little bit, but thankfully didn't fall. Speed 1 is so minimal that it seems useless to me, but the other 4 speeds are great. It's pretty quiet, even on max speed. It has 4 modes, regular, breeze, power breeze and sleep. I love the breeze mode. It reminds me of sitting outside on a slightly breezy day.

My dogs had knocked it down and it didn't break. I love the display. It's very easy to see and the remote is a plus. Wonderful quality.
