This weather station is a fantastic tool for children, helping them understand temperature and appropriate clothing choices. Guests appreciate its engaging design, which features a computer image dressed for the weather, making learning fun. The easy setup and interactive elements encourage kids to check the weather daily. However, some guests suggest improvements for clothing distinction and local weather programming to enhance its functionality. Overall, it serves as a valuable educational gift for young ones.

Mediocre
I purchased this for my 5‑year‑old nephew, who loves checking the time and temperature each day and really wanted a “real” alarm clock. I’m giving it 3 out of 5 stars for the following reasons: 1. Poor battery life. The brand‑new batteries were about 75% drained within a week—even though the clock wasn’t being used as it was wrapped under the Christmas tree. It would be much more practical if there were an option to plug it in instead of relying solely on batteries. 2. Not intuitive for kids. For a clock marketed toward children, turning off the alarm completely (not just snoozing it) is surprisingly difficult and not intuitive. A clearer, more easily accessible, child‑friendly shut-off mechanism would make a big difference. 3. Temperature readings aren’t accurate. The readings are consistently off compared to other thermometers. It’s a fun feature, but not reliable.

We apologize that your unit is experiencing issues, but we are happy to assist! Please ensure you are using fresh, standard alkaline batteries, then perform the following reset. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display unit together and remove batteries from the outdoor sensor. Make sure that the Wireless Reception Indicator on the display drops to zero bars to ensure that your display was connected to the correct sensor. (If your wireless reception indicator already indicates zero bars, please proceed to Step #2.) NOTE: If your display unit continues to show a strong connection, there is another sensor in your area that your display is connecting to (either a neighbor's or from another of your AcuRite units). 2. Remove the batteries and/or power adapter from the display unit. 3. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 4. Once the batteries are inserted you should see the red LED light blink approx. every 30 seconds on the front of the sensor. The red LED light should NOT stay on continuously. 5. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit. 6. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. If this does not correct the issues, please reach out to our support team via live chat or email request.

Love the simple format those with intellectual disability
My son cannot equate thermometer numbers with the weather (ex- 32 degrees requires a winter coat.). So the computer image dressed in the appropriate clothing is super valuable. That being said, the weather station would score a 5 star if: 1. The clothes on the boy were a little more distinct- it is hard to tell the t-shirt from the tank top. 2. The weather station were programable to local weather (ex- dry Colorado weather at 65 degrees is "warmer" that damp NY weather at 65 degrees.) Thank you for creating a weather station that fills this niche.

Our 6 year old loves this weather station
Very easy to set up. Our 6-year-old loves checking the weather conditions every morning before he gets dressed. He also really likes the reward system.

AcuRite What to Wear Weather Station is Amazing
Our granddaughter loves her AcuRite what to wear weather station & alarm clock. She's gaining independence with the alarm clock to wake her for school. She observes the temperature several times throughout the day. She loves that it shows her how to dress for the weather that day. Overall it's an amazing product that she is excited to use, which im thinking of all the helpful learning aspects she will gain from it, independence, self-esteem, decision making, time management, science related to the climate she lives in, setting & gaining good sleep patterns with alarm clock, organizational skills, amazing! And I was extremely impressed with the fast delivery to my home of the product! Wow, amazing product, amazing company!

Not as accurate as I thought
The product is great at first. Kids loved it but there seems to be an issue since most of the time is showing on average 5 degrees Celsius difference, sometimes even 10 C. It may not seem like much but when outside it's 6 C for instance, the screen is showing 10 C and the kid on the screen is wearing only pants and a tshirt, no jacket no scarf no hat.
