Q: I still don't understand how the cold foods stay cold outside of the thermos. If my little one likes to take cucumbers and carrots and cheese slices, where did they go?

  • A: OmieBox keeps cold foods cool because the entire box is insulated, so items like cucumbers, carrots, or cheese stay fresh even outside the thermos in the side compartments. The thermos is only for hot foods, and the insulated shell helps maintain different temperatures in separate compartments. If you ever want extra chill for very perishable items, you can add a small slim ice pack, but most families find the insulation is enough.

  • A: Well - good news. We designed the OmieBox so that you can remove the seal and hand-wash it and get it to dry separately - which greatly reduces the risk of mold. Additionally we sell extra seals on our website - so you can just replace that one part!

    Seal installation is not easy

    Love this lunchbox overall. The seal is very difficult to install and if you get it wrong the lunchbox leaks. I had to go on YouTube to find an influencer video to teach me how to properly install the seal.

    Good size, not good for warm foods

    We bought two of these. The size is great for my six year old’s packed lunches, but the thermos does not keep food warm in either of the boxes we purchased. I followed the directions in prepping it, and two hours later, whatever is in thermos is no longer warm.

    Some downsides but still 5 stars

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great for my 6yo who prefers soup or other hot lunch! I've been stressed about packing a lunch for summer camp every day, as my son has been eating hot lunch all his life and strongly prefers it. The sections help me ensure a balanced lunch, and having the thermos built in is great. There are a few bummers: lots of pieces to disassemble and hand wash. Space is tight and there's no room for utensils or a napkin, and some extras I would throw in (like a fruit cup) don't fit. And the thermos is actually a little small for son's soup - he eats more than it holds. So this lunch box is better for hot lunch generally, and I've been using a different option for soup day. Even considering all of that, I still give this 5 stars - it's really great.

    Great lunch box!

    I ordered this lunch box for my 7 year old son. He absolutely loves the vibrant colors and the fact that it can hold a lot! He can't wait to use it for camp. It's pretty sturdy and looks like it will last throughout his primary school days. Happy customer from the Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago).

    This lunchbox is an absolute gem! I purchased this for my son for kindergarten. It keeps items cold for SO long. I love that fact that I can store hot (in the thermos). It really works. The seal is phenomenal- it keeps things separated and crunchy/fresh. My son is a picky eater so having the food fresh and at an appropriate temp has been amazing in helping him eat better.

    Does NOT keep food hot or warm

    We give our toddler a hot lunch for school. We follow instructions to heat the thermos. Make her food around 745am and by 11am the food is cold! What a waste of money! DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO KEEP FOOD HOT/WARM

    We're sorry to hear that. In our testing and from the experience of thousands of families, food packed at 7:45 AM should still be warm at an 11:00 AM lunch when the thermos is properly preheated and filled with very hot food. A few factors can significantly impact performance, including the type of food being packed, starting food temperature, whether the thermos was preheated with boiling water for at least 10 minutes, and how full the thermos is. Moist foods such as pasta, rice, soup, and chili also retain heat much better than drier foods. If you'd be willing to share what food you packed and how you prepared the thermos, we'd be happy to help troubleshoot. It's also possible there may be an issue with the thermos itself, and we'd be glad to look into that as well.

    Thermal jar lid handle has bad design, broke easily

    I bought this lunch box this January, I really like it, but after three months usage. The handle of the thermal Jar broke a tiny piece, then the handle does not work. I realized that the wire just pass the hole of handle about 3 mm . This is a very bad design for over $40 lunch box. The lid does not have replacement option either.

    We love it

    We love our omiebox. It holds the perfect amount of food for my 3 year old and cuts down on containers. It’s also leak proof and so easy to clean. I can pack leftover dinner or yogurt in the thermos which is nice. Also nothing gets left behind during lunch since it’s all in one and everything is offered to my child.

    Rubber seal defective

    Waterproof rubber seal doesn’t stay in the box grooves even after following the installation instructions. It’s really inconvenient and makes me not want to use the box.
