This cover fits the 2-gallon numbered stoneware crock (sold separately). The lip on the lid holds it securely in place. Made of hand-finished glazed stoneware - comes in brown . Fired in a kiln at a high temperature for durability. Finished with lead-free, food-safe glaze. Will not retain the food's flavors. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe. USA made in Ohio. Note: Crock is sold separately. Dimensions: About 12"OD, 6 lb.. Helpful Hints for Fermenting: Make sure to check your sauerkraut once a week. Skim off any scum on top.. Remember, the better quality ingredients you use, the better results you'll have. . Wooden boards will naturally swell during fermenting. Make sure the board you use fits properly in the crock. If it is too snug, it may get stuck..
