Q: Are the lids.straws interchangable with the old style? I like that the old style 24oz and 30oz lids and straws all fit each other and would like to try the new one, but I don't want an odd set.

A: That is an excellent question. The lid for the FreeSip Sway is not interchangeable with any of our other FreeSip products. The straws all have the same diameter but may be differing in lengths. A: That is a great question. The FreeSip Stainless Steel bottle is designed with technology for sipping through a straw, or chugging through the spout. In addition to this, the straw is removable, but we do not encourage the use of different straws as they may not be compatible with the FreeSip lid. I love the functionality of this bottle and all of its features but it unfortunately is not very durable. Less than 3 weeks after purchasing it, it dropped from about waist height and the bottom is dented super bad now. I'm surprised there is not more quality/durability testing done when creating these bottles. I submitted a warranty claim through the Owala site but they unfortunately were not very helpful as they said the damage was not covered. I am disappointed because otherwise I really love this bottle and would use it daily.

Keeping at 5 stars because the bottle is fine but leaving a review to warn that the color on the website is off for the Sleek colorway. On the 30oz bottle, it looks ice blue online. The 40oz bottle has the correct color— which is more like a slightly grey white with grey accents. It’s not what I was looking for. Adding screenshots of both bottle sizes and my own photo.

I loved everything about this water bottle except for the sturdiness of it. Pros: functionally, it was everything I was looking for. I loved that it has a straw that is hidden so it’s not poking out. Has a lock so you can toss it into your bag without worrying about it leaking. The bottom is narrow so it actually fits in a cup holder. It’s tall enough to actually hold a good amount of liquid but not so tall that it is tippy like other cups. Cons: this bottle is not sturdy. I had it for two days before it slipped out of my hand in the parking lot and when it fell it scuffed the flip top and put a small ding in the side and chipped the powder coat. Bummer but not a huge deal. But then 6 weeks into owning it, it slipped from my hand and fell upright onto my hardwood floor from about 3 feet high, and the bottom smooshed out like a pancake. Now it won’t stand up because the bottom is too warped. I’m surprised at how much damaged that drop caused considering hardwoods are considerably soft floors. I have a couple S|M cups that have seen much more abuse and have virtually no dents/scuffs. I would recommend this only if you treat it very delicately.

Beware of the colors. It looks nothing like the midnight blue on the picture. It’s a dull navy. The top isn’t a vivid teal either.

I loved this water bottle for an entire month before it accidentally slipped from my kid’s hand and hit the ground from about 2 feet in the air. Unlike other Owalas we have that have lasted for years, the small dent on this made it so the water bottle can no longer stand up. Not sure if it’s the narrow bottom or something else but our other owalas have been dropped multiple times and have had cosmetic damage but nothing structural like this.
