The mat lays flat… I opened it before I a hot yoga class in my car… When I rolled it out, it didn’t want to lay flat, but I rolled it back the opposite way and magically, it was flat. I will say it’s slippery in a hot yoga class but most mats are

This yoga mat is so bad, it's almost funny. It is very stiff like someone else mentioned, but with some use you can get it to lay flat. The material is a little weird up against the skin, but I can deal with that. The problem is that it's just not usable. You literally cannot do down dog on this mat. The material is too slippery, so your hands just slide forward. I tried to make it work by bringing myself further toward the top of the mat so thay my hands are actually on the floor, not the mat, and that worked a few times. But then tonight I tried to do a HIIT workout standing on this mat... and it just slid around the floor under my feet. I ended up moving it out of the way because it almost made lose my balance when I was jumping. This mat is a menace, a danger to society lol. It should come with a caution sign. In all seriousness, I have been doing yoga for years and have never run into issues like this. There are a number of other yoga mats you can buy for a LOT less that are actually usable.

It is just thick enough that you can easily do floor exercises without hurting your back or feeling it in your bottom after finishing. I really do like the gray color it’s subtle and can work with just about any area. The size is great for stretching or doing other yoga poses . There is a touch of glitter that gives it a fun look and overall, this is a great product.

It does not have a smooth side, both sides have the same hexagon shape texture. While I’m used to having the smooth side option, I don’t mind the texture and I don’t think it’s impacting my practice. The color and stitched tag are classy and elegant. This doesn’t look or feel like a product made from recycled materials. And there was no odor when I first opened it. This is a really nice mat that works well for trips to the studio or doing family yoga at home with the kids. And it’s durable enough to handle the kids folding and twisting it — it bounces back every time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Gaiam hybrid yoga mat and it is such a nice mat. This Mat is plenty thick at 6mm and made from recycled foam! I love that it is easy to wipe down and rolls up nicely for storage and carrying to yoga class. The texture is very nice and makes it perfect for no slippage. It is 68” long so it will work well for people of all heights! This is a great yoga mat for beginners or advanced!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the nicest yoga mat I’ve ever bought! The material feels very strong and sturdy yet soft when I sit on it. I am so appreciative of the two sides that seem to be equally comfortable and strong, and that it’s made from recycled materials. It makes me feel extra good about using it. I don’t do yoga that often but I use it for general workouts and stretching as well. My only complaint is that it took a while for it to lie flat on the ground when unrolled. I usually keep a mat on the ground at all times but I could see how it would be annoying to have to roll and unroll something with a lot of shape inertia.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this gaiam select studio mat in blue and think the coloring is so relaxing and perfect. One side is a soft blue and the other is a fun gray with black and white spots. I love seeing this mat when I got to pull it out for a body weight workout. It is 6mm thick which I think I perfect for providing cushion without compromising stability. It is recommended that you wipe the mat down with a damp cloth first prior to use to increase stickiness. I did not try this but found no issues when I used.

I wanted a yoga mat that would be comfortable for my knees to be in, say, child’s pose for five minutes straight. This Gaiam mat is everything I need for my practice! Even though the mat is only 5mm, the material is so tough and sturdy that I feel well supported for the amount of time I need. The colors and texture of the mat are both very soothing. I didn’t find the mat slippery even though I didn’t wet it with a damp cloth before using. But again this may be because I only do very gentle practices.

The color is so vibrant, and it’s a neat feature that it is reversible. The mat itself is very comfortable on my feet, providing a nice padding as I move and then going right back into its place. The size is much longer than I thought it would be which was a nice surprise. Overall, highly recommend!

The thickness is perfect, making it lightweight good quality, and easy to roll. It does take a few mins to sit flat after being rolled in the package for so long. I also like that it’s 90% recycled material. It felt soft and supportive while practicing. The length is good I never felt like I was coming off my mat as I’m 5’9” and pretty tall.
