    Country Life Betaine Hydrochloride before meals

    The Country Life Betaine Hydrochloride is an excellent addition to my full spectrum enzymes. The betaine hydrochloride certainly helps with digestion of heavier meals, especially if there is a lot of protein. Meals don’t just sit there and make me uncomfortable anymore. After using 1 or 2 tablets before meals, I rarely feel over full or get bloated.

    Simple but does the Job

    In other cases when I have bought Betaine HCI it was mixed with other ingredients and as this was singular it was during the day that I started taking the pill that I could fill the difference in my system.

    Stomach Soothing

    I take these pills about once or twice a day and often skip a day. They help keep my stomach calm. My acid reflex does not bother me unless I eat some things I shouldn't. I would recommend this product.

    I use to get terrible heartburn at night until I started using it with every meal many years ago. The only time I've had heartburn since is a couple of times near the beginning when I forgot to take it.

    Not impressed

    Not all that impressed. I didn't feel or see a difference and when ya already have digestive issues, taking a hard pressed tablet that has to be broken down is NOT the best choice in taking a digestive aid. Won't order again.

    Big boost to digestion

    This is my first time using this, but I’ve already noticed a difference after a couple of days. My digestion and evacuation are so much better and more complete. I notice the difference when I forget to take it. I highly recommend it. Country Life has been around a while, and this is a quality product. Also love that it’s packed in glass!

    My body does not process protein or fat well. If I take a couple of these prior to eating it makes a big difference to my ability to digest and not bloat. If I forget to take them prior then I just take a couple when I remember. It is not quite as effective but it still makes a difference.

    Concerned about what is in it and effectiveness

    The price was good so I tried these...2 big bottles unfortunately. I knew the ingredients included calcium carbonate which I really did not need and "natural flavors" which can always be a red flag. I wonder what those flavors are...these tabs have a strong sweet smell...a little like mallow. For someone who eats keto, anything sweet can be nauseating. I have also felt they were not as effective as other brands I used because I have had to increase my dosage. Will not be buying again. Swanson is awesome...these Country Life Betaine HCl, not so much.

    Good Helper

    Some nutritionists say Betaine Hydrochloride should include pepsin to be effective. It is nice to find this product which has not only pepsin but also papain and bromelain to aid in digestive health. I found taking it a half-hour after a meal was beneficial. 4 leaves for satisfaction is due to my having to chew the hefty tablets which are not very tasty. That's a minor inconvenience that won't apply to everyone but is worth it to have the effects it provides.

    Tablets too big

    Unfortunately the tables are too big. Manufacturer should reduce the size to at least 30% less volume. Difficult to swallow.
