purchased for my son who occasionally likes mac & cheese. it tasted like cardboard. no flavor. more and more processed food even the "good brands" just so disappointing. for the price lacking this much flavor ain't even worth it. better off buying a cheese block and making it yourself.

Not what it used to be, unrecognizable in flavor
They removed the cheese flavor, and now it just tastes like a bland paste. The one thing Annie’s had going for it was quality and flavor but now that both are gone, it doesn’t have any real appeal anymore. I think the only reason it still sells is because of the organic label. I worry they’re going to run this brand into the ground by turning it into a cheap, processed mac and cheese imitation that only looks organic on paper. Annie’s used to stand a whole step above other mac and cheese brands, but now it’s lowered itself to their level. It’s really disappointing, because this was the one product that truly stood out in the entire market, and they dropped the ball.

This one and the white cheddar shells have been my favorite mqc and cheese all my life. Then the "now cheesier" box came out, and I am so disappointed! That beloved, distinctive Annie's taste has been replaced with...cornstarch I guess. Please please bring back the original. I would pay double what a box of thos new disaster costs to be able to enjoy the original recipe again!

Extremely Disappointing
The old recipe used to be one of my favorite foods, and was a nostalgic childhood classic. The new version tastes overly salty and fake to the point that I can barely stand to eat it. Sad that after 20 years I am having to find a new brand, as I grew up on Annie‘s and it used to carry good memories with me.

Terrible
I thought the box I opened what a mistake. The powder did not fully dissolve and there was no flavor whatsoever. I had to actually add cheese to it. I didn't even know the recipe had changed but now that I see this is a new version I will absolutely not be buying again. So sad. I used to like Annie's boxed Mac and cheese!

I have been buying for 20 years. The new recipe is GROSS! I threw the boxes away , they were not worth the calories . You lost a 20 yr customer

Annie’s, What Happened?
Annie’s — I have been eating your Mac and cheese since childhood (early 2000’s). Literally, grew up with it. I have never written a review for mac and cheese but felt I must now because your reformulation of the cheese is absolutely gross. The original flavor is gone, replaced by dull color and lackluster flavor. I actually went back to the store and bought a second box thinking that the first was a manufacturing defect. I am disappointed that a staple of my childhood and adolescence is now gone.

My daughter and I are both extremely disappointed with the new "now cheesier" recipe. We also tried the extra protein variety and every other variety of Annie's at this point. Nothing can replace the original shells and real aged cheese recipe. We both hope that you reconsider and change the recipe back. We will not be buying any more of the new recipe!

Unbelievable, Annie's. Your customer base wants a healthier product than other mac 'n cheese companies, and you take out the butter for more cornstarch and salt?? Putting "now cheesier" on the box is just manipulative and insulting! I had higher hopes for your company but you're like all the rest.

Better before they changed it
My adult kids have been eating this for years, but since they've changed it to be 'now cheesier', they don't like it as much. It doesn't mix well, sothe cheese gets lumpy.

Changed recipe is not good. I have been eating Annie’s for a long time and loved it!! Last nite I made this and I knew something was off. The cheese packet didn’t have as much in it…..the color was pale….. the flavor was lackluster. I just learned the recipe is different. It’s not good. It has zero flavor. Corn starch is the new ingredient……. Please bring back the old version!!!! Please!!!!

Used to be something good!
New recipe lacks flavor, powder is difficult to mix, consistency is gooey not in a good way. I have been buying my kids this Mac and cheese for almost 11 years. It was our favorite. When neighbors would come over they would be thrilled that I had “the good Mac and cheese”. I’ve made this a few times since new recipe labeling it as “now more cheesier” has been on the box. Today was the last day. None of the 6 kids at my house could stand even their first helping. Bummed. Please consider revision as you really had something good!
