miracle product. my 2 year old woke up with massive amounts of snot, her eyes were watering, and she had a thick cough. within several hours of taking this, it started to go away. she used it 4 times and the cough is nearly gone. snot completely dried up. gross, but real. this worked better than any other OTC i’ve ever tried for my child!

Packaging is a no go
Medicine works well, which is the most important. BUT one thing that I can’t get past is the packaging, if you’re planning to take this traveling anywhere there’s a slight change in elevation…it will leak every single time! And no, it’s not with all medications, the others don’t do that. This without a doubt leaks everywhere every time…it’s really inconvenient and I probably wouldn’t purchase again as opposed to others that work just as well just because of this issue.

love hyland’s - this is an issue with Target. I purchased this in October 2025, just opened it Nov 2025 and then saw the expiration date of Nov 2024! Upset at my 13$ loss but moreso that I did not have medicine available when my kid needed it at bedtime. We did not ingest the expired product so this review will not reflect its effectiveness.

Hylands cold and cough
I love this medicine. The minute my kids show a sign of a cold I give them this and it goes away. It never turns into a full blown viral infection. They will be a little congested, but they are still able to function normally. I make sure I give it to them every 4 hours the first day and if they are still showing signs the second day, I give it to them every 4 hours also, but usually it doesn’t last longer than that.

I've learned this is homeopathic, so it is not real medicine. Everything is so highly diluted (such as 12X) that it effectively contains no active ingredients, it is just a placebo. Read the disclaimer: "Claims based on traditional homeopathic practice, not accepted medical evidence. Not FDA evaluated." 12X means 1 drop of an ingredient in 1 trillion drops of water (1,000,000,000,000), which is enough water to fill thousands of olympic-size swimming pools. Don't waste your money!

Did not work
I only used the daytime formula so my kids could get respite during the day from symptoms, so glad I didn’t use the nighttime formula. The daytime formula didn’t do anything and didn’t help my kids with their symptoms.
