Great pasta for my gluten hating tummy
The secret to keeping gf pasta from tearing and breaking after it's cooked is don't go by the directions. Cook gf pasta in half the recommended time. Turn off heat, let it sit a few minutes then drain. If the box says 12 min, time for 6. Makes a nice Al Dente A

As of May 2026 it's unusable.
Why did Barilla need to take a 10/10 product and change it to a sticky, disgusting mess?!? Being / cooking gluten free if hard enough without Barilla making it so much harder! Ugh. Just put back in the 2 ingredients needed to not make this disgusting. Please.

best gluten free pasta by far
I've tried too many gluten free pastas to count, and this brand, specifically the elbows, have become a staple in my dinners. It's almost embarrassing to admit it, but I eat this pasta at least four times a week and it never gets old. Can't even tell it's gluten free, that's how you know it's good.

Save your money. Awful is an understatement.
I tried to make macaroni and cheese, and on a different occasion barbecue pasta. Both times disaster. Absolute mush. Followed directions doesn't matter Cook less than the directions say doesn't matter absolute mush. No I would not recommend this.

Delicious Gluten-free Pastas
Delicious pasta! My family doesn't have to eat gluten-free, we eat Barilla gluten-free by choice. We prefer the texture and flavor of Barilla Gluten-free over wheat pastas.

Barilla is my favorite gluten free pasta by far! Even my husband and kids can't tell the difference when eating it. It cooks well, doesn't foam like other GF products, and doesn't glue together or fall apart. This brand is always my go too!

I wouldn't buy this at all!
I cooked the first box for 6 min. It mushed so then I tried a box for 3-4 min mushed! This is the worst of worst, as a gluten person I'd stay away from this brand absolutely no texture of a noodle!

Something has changed.
I didn't like these noodles in the first place but I would use them when my favorite noodles were out of stock at Safeway. They weren't the best but 2nd best. I bought a box yesterday and they are horrible. They must of changed the recipe because now they are flavorless. Gluten free already has issues with falling apart, but now they are even more flimsy. I feel like if I breathed on them, they would just fall apart. Please come up with a better noodle. Us gluten free people would appreciate it. Just cuz it's gluten free, doesn't mean it needs to be flavorless!!!

The Best GF Elbows
I use it to make GF macaroni and cheese. The consistency of the pasta is perfect to hold up to a cheese sauce.

Gluten Free Option
Great gluten free pasta option that really holds its shape. Good texture and flavor as well and inexpensive compared to most gluten free products. Perfect for Mac and cheese!

Mushy and soggy
Terrible. The pasta turned so mushy even when only cooking it for 4 minutes. Tried 2 different boxes and both times it was mushy and soggy. Consistency is gross. Do not recommend

So far so good !!
We swapped out our regular mini elbows for these and our Mac n cheese taste much even more fresh. Not a big difference. Added a little extra cheese and can’t complain.

It's a yes for me!
Barilla gluten free has a new customer! These are so good. So light and delicious. I used these to make a cold pasta dish. When cooking GF pasta, water gets cloudy and sometimes noodles turn into a mushy mess. As soon as the noodles were cooked to my preferred texture, I drained and put in an ice bath to stop the cooking process. This always helps my GF pasta experiences. My dish turned out amazing and I’m so pleased with these. I’ve heard great things about these and I’m happy they were all true! 10/10 in my book!

Quality Control Has Gone Downhill
These used to be the best noodle, and now I'm getting very inconsistent results. Half the time I have the noodles falling apart even though they still are partially hard. It always happens when the pasta water is so cloudy that you can't see the noodles 2 minutes after dumping them into the boiling water. If the water is clear, they cook up fine.

Love it
Learning what’s good in the gluten free world; this is my favorite pasta now, hands down! The shape of the elbows makes the texture amazing. We cook them for 8 minutes rather than the suggested 7, and they’re perfect every time.

Eh
I like the shape of the noodled but they break apart and aren’t similar texture to regular noodles
