I’ve been replacing Remington flat irons with another one for years. I always wrap the cord around them when I put them away which is not recommended because eventually the cord will fall apart. I do it anyways because it takes a couple years for that to happen and I’m fine with just replacing when it does. This particular model, I don’t love. The plastic is odd feeling and the program buttons are odd too. I wouldn’t suggest this particular model.

Agree with others that the plates don’t touch when clamping shut. Feels cheap and light - too light when clamping. I do like the digital temp setting and have a previous version that I love - heavier weight and clamps more tightly.

This remington straighter didn’t meet my expectations. The moment I plugged it in, it gave off a strong plastic smell as if something was burning. While it does heat up quickly, the build quality feels quite cheap. Another major issue is that it pulls my hair while straightening, which is uncomfortable and damaging. There are definitely better-quality options even within the Remington brand itself. I’ve decided to return this product.

This is the best hair straightener out there. It gets the job done (curling, waving, straightening, bangs, ends, everything) and it lasts FOREVER! I bought this same exact straightener from Target years ago in high school but I lost it so I grabbed this one and it's just as good as the other one.

No no no! I brought this same straightener in high school and I loved it!!! It finally broke so I bought this one . Every thing looks the same but the color . But this one sucks !!!! Does not work as well and makes my lights flicker every time I use it ! Don’t have the box so I am not return !!

Didn’t even try to use it. I got it out of the box and saw the metal plates only meet at the top, so you’d run a section of hair through and find it would pull out and fry part of your hair, and leave the other chunk less touched. Cheap cheap cheap

I was looking at different flat irons for probably about 2 hours and I finally just got in my car and drove to the closest target near me. This straightener'a reviews were quite questionable and to be honest I wasn't even going to bother getting it. I don't think a lot of people in these reviews are using it right. This straightener did not pull on my hair like my last one did, you do have to hold it tighter for it to close all the way but you also shouldn't be shoving your hair into it. Small sections really do the job. I was able to finish my hair in an hour instead of 3, I have naturally really curly hair so it becomes hard to straighten it. This is probably the best straightener I've ever gotten and I've only used it once. With the heat protection products I already had plus the straightener, my hair is the most silkiest flowing hair I've ever had. I've never used a straighter that's left my hair silky and soft. For people complaining about the buttons it's because their entire hand is gripping the flat iron which is not necessary. Even if this flat iron ends up breaking, I would definitely buy again!

I have really thick hair and this thing gets HOT which works great. I’ve also had mine for a long time which is unheard of for this price. I even got one for my mom because she kept using it instead of the “designer” flat iron.

I hate this flat iron because it leaves an awful scent of burnt plastic in your hair! I’ve used it 3 times, hoping the smell would dissipate after the initial use and it hasn’t. Major regret- I do NOT recommend anyone purchase this.

There’s too much of a gap in the floating plates so my hair slips way too easily when trying to curl my hair. and sometimes with straightening. I think it works well but the plastic is so cheap and gets so hot even at the tip where you should be able to place your fingers and not get burned is super hot. It’s the first straightener that made me really think about getting heat protectant gloves because it’s too hot for me to touch. It shouldn’t be that way. I like the digital temperature read. That’s nice.

this hair straightener is actually better than the $160 one i got from ulta a couple years ago. i just bought this one because it was the cheapest one available and i forgot mine at home when i was on vacation. but i love it and only use this one now, not my old one. it’s also perfect for getting the little baby hairs close to your head, cause the edges of the straightener don’t get hot and burn you if it touches your head.
