submitted byDysonProductExpert - 1 year agoBrand expertA: If it operates the same as the hot + cool gen 1 it is useless for continuous heat. Once the air is purified the unit cuts off. If you cut it back on it will only run and heat a short time until the air is purified. If your home has smokers, pets etc it might run continuous but don't count on it.

A: Cat urine, or more precisely, the ammonia in it which causes odor is not removed by carbon. So no. That smell is going to linger until you clean it

Overall it works fine. Not great with cigarettes smoke which was why I bought it in the first place. Overpriced I think for performance. App doesn’t work, tried multiple passwords and changes but finally gave up altogether. I had to go online for a manual to find out how to operate the thing. Expensive fan, but kept it as it also blows heat which will come in handy this winter.

After having this a few months, I can say that it functions well to heat, cool and purify. However, the controls are not as simple or intuitive as they could be. For example, there is no heating function on the My Dyson app but there is on the remote. To turn off heating, you have to enable cooling, then switch to auto. Much trickier to use and change settings that it should be for the price and sophistication of this technology. They need to work with owners to simplify the user experience of the controls.

I have several of these devices as do my family. They are quiet and easy to use. The cool is great on a warm night and preferred by myself to the central a/c. I like the filtration as well. Winter is coming here so it will get plenty of use then. I control it with the App on my phone when in another room.

I’m so happy I bought this Dyson fan , it does everything I need and more . The heating and cooling on this fan is really cool , the fact that it can be adjusted to how I like is awesome too. The auto feature is auto is also a huge plus for me . The main reason I bought this was because i wanted something that was good on air filtration, which for me it does everything that I like , I can breathe a whole lot better. That fact I can control it from my phone is even better too , I can see the air quality and conditions where I live.

This is my second Dyson purifier. My other one was purchased approx. 5 years ago and its in our bedroom, its quiet so it does not wake us up in the night if the fan comes on. My husband has really bad seasonal allergies and the efficiency of the unit helps him sleep. I had to purchase another one I love the hot & cool option. If I had the money I would have one in every bedroom and our living room. Exp. of how well these machines work when I use my toilet cleaner (Lysol brand) the VOC goes up to 47, when its usually fluctuates between 1-3. That tells me that it is something that really is unsafe to use. I love the look of them . We are extremely thankful and happy to have the two units.

It is prefect for heating up even fairly big rooms. The cooling part isn't as effective if you're looking for something to make your room/office cooler. It works as a decent fan which is enough for me.

We have had our Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool for a few weeks now and are very happy with it's efficiency; also with it's elegant look. So far it's mainly been used for cooling and purifiying, but very pleased with it's performance. Highly recommend.

The Dyson Hot+Cool purifier has been disappointing. It’s overly expensive, quite noisy in an enclosed room, and while the performance is okay, the cooling isn’t any better than a much cheaper pedestal fan I purchased three years ago. For the price, I expected a far superior product.
